Thursday, February 7, 2013. DIY Campaign Chest IKEA Hack. This has been in the works a long time, but I finally want to share my most favorite DIY to date. Like all DIYs, this was much harder than I thought it would be, but I am so proud of how it turned out. I found this project from forchicsake.com. And fell in love. They deserve all the credit for this chest, so please check out their blog and store at forchicsake.com. Want to get in on some of this amazing action? IKEA RAST 3 drawer chest. And just k...

Turquoise & Gold: Things I learned in birth class: American Apparel and birth educators are in cahoots...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2012/07/things-i-learned-in-birth-class.html
Thursday, July 12, 2012. Things I learned in birth class: American Apparel and birth educators are in cahoots. I finally know why the leg holders on OBGYN chairs are called "stirrups". Because that is the preferred dress code for vagina-related medical care. I am totally on to this subliminal advertising for American Apparel. Aka the only place that adult women can still buy unitards and stirrup pants. Who knew that pregnant women and hipsters were so like-minded in their fashion sense? Amalah . com.

Turquoise & Gold: I LOST 30 POUNDS! And hated every second of it...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2013/07/i-lost-30-pounds-and-hated-every-second.html
Wednesday, July 17, 2013. I LOST 30 POUNDS! And hated every second of it. On January 16th, I wrote THIS post. I stated that I wanted to lose 30 lbs, and vaguely outlined my plan of action. Well, here we are six months later, and I did it, y'all! So let me start from the beginning. With Henry, I gained almost 60 lbs during my pregnancy. In the first two weeks after his birth, I lost 30 lbs of that. I was insanely swollen so a lot of my weight was fluid retention. So what did I do to lose the weight? I hig...

Turquoise & Gold: I ALMOST wrote a baby-free post...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-almost-wrote-baby-free-post.html
Friday, April 6, 2012. I ALMOST wrote a baby-free post. I don't know if it's because I am pregnant or because I've been more lenient about how much golf he plays, but my husband has been especially compliant this week. As in, going to pick out fabric for curtains, compliant. If you live in Houston, and you've never been to High Fashion Home. Here's a little preview to get you through the weekend. If we have a girl, we would love to incorporate this into the nursery. HUNTING DOGS! Playing with the ducks?

Turquoise & Gold: Some DIY nursery action - crib sheet, teething guard, and a book hammock...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2013/09/some-diy-nursery-action-crib-sheet.html
Monday, September 9, 2013. Some DIY nursery action - crib sheet, teething guard, and a book hammock. I just knew that it would be perfect. Also, his nursery is mostly very soft colors, and I feel this dark fabric really adds some punch and personality to a room for a boy that is soon to be 1! To make the sheet, I followed the tutorial at Dana Made It. It was SUPERRRRRR easy. If you are a true beginner, you could easily make one! Pillow made from corner scraps and leftover pompoms. 3 Sewed them all right ...

Turquoise & Gold: I'm back... until the next time I am gone...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2013/08/im-back-until-next-time-i-am-gone.html
Thursday, August 22, 2013. I'm back. until the next time I am gone. So what has happened to me? After I started making Strolli Cools, which people are still buying and enjoying! To be honest, I taught myself to sew at the beginning of the summer. So the Strolli Cool was the first thing I ever made. As far as being the first thing you've ever sewn, it's not exactly an "easy" thing to make. It's not super hard either, but compared to a burp cloth, it's more challenging for sure. 2 pairs of shorts. If you f...

Turquoise & Gold: CHA CHING!
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2013/08/cha-ching.html
Wednesday, August 28, 2013. So the main reason I hadn't posted a lot of my stuff for sale is because I wanted to wait until I had proper packaging. I thought about ordering some, but because I already know how to do graphic design, I figured that my money would be better spent investing in a nice printer and making it myself. I am really happy with the results, and I hope you guys like it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Amalah . com. Spray Paint and Chardonnay. Le} Internet Cooking Princess. I DESIG...

Turquoise & Gold: About Me...
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/p/about-me.html
Hey girl. Thanks for checking out my blog. I'm Lauren. I am a 27 year old wife and mother in Houston, Texas. My husband's mom set us up on a blind date, and we were married two years later. Two months after our wedding, we found out we were expecting our first baby. His name is Henry, and he is the best thing that ever happened to us. Oh, and the only reason my blog is called Turquoise and Gold is because I enjoy both of those colors. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Amalah . com. Spray Paint and Chardonnay.

Turquoise & Gold: DIYing and also DIEing - pom pom garland
http://turqandgold.blogspot.com/2013/10/diying-and-also-dieing-pom-pom-garland.html
Wednesday, October 2, 2013. DIYing and also DIEing - pom pom garland. I have my "big" craft show this weekend. It's at my church. Our church is big, and the festival is a pretty big deal. So my random DIY tonight was fiesta garland to potentially decorate my craft show booth. I see a lot of cool pom pom accents all over pinterest, and I suggest you look around, because they are all super easy to recreate. I have always loved this. Is your mind blown?
