Allahdeen: The Heart of a Woman
http://allahdeen.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-heart-of-woman.html
Tuesday, March 03, 2015. The Heart of a Woman. By Georgia Douglas Johnson. The heart of a woman goes forth with the dawn,. As a lone bird, soft winging, so restlessly on,. Afar o'er life's turrets and vales does it roam. In the wake of those echoes the heart calls home. The heart of a woman falls back with the night,. And enters some alien cage in its plight,. And tries to forget it has dreamed of the stars. While it breaks, breaks, breaks on the sheltering bars. Wellington, New Zealand. Meme of the Week.

MadWard Adventures: "What's the mood of this country?"
http://madward.blogspot.com/2011/09/whats-mood-of-this-country.html
Monday, September 26, 2011. What's the mood of this country? Immediately we started talking politics and Rich asked a very profound question to us, "Along your travels, what would you say is the mood of the people in this country? Oh man, what a good question. I asked Rich, "do you mean political? He had a quick response, "yeah, but really just the general feeling.". Both Rach and my first response was "ANGRY! The system itself is broken. Throughout this trip most people I meet say we need to end these w...

MadWard Adventures: the mountains we cross
http://madward.blogspot.com/2011/09/mountains-we-cross.html
Friday, September 16, 2011. The mountains we cross. This post is an excerpt from my journal from the day after we rode over the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. It's unedited and simple and raw and ready to be out there, after plenty of time to myself. Enjoy. I just rode my bicycle up and down a Very Steep MOUNTAIN. I pushed, cried, lost my shit, laughed, paused, doubted, stretched, hoped, and proved possibility out of an INSANE endeavor. Now is the time for Integration and Gratitude. The story began like m...

MadWard Adventures: May 2011
http://madward.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Chicago was an awesome time. It was by far the largest city we have been in yet and it was clear when we were riding around and seeing cars zip right by you. Thankfully there were plenty of bike lanes. Later that night, our friends, Andrew and Kristen were in from Bowling Green, KY and were heading to Ames, IA and we got some drinks with then. It was great catching up with them as they are fellow adventurers and we hadn't seen them since our wedding. The North Shore Canal Trail.

Allahdeen: This being a woman
http://allahdeen.blogspot.com/2015/03/this-being-woman.html
Sunday, March 08, 2015. This being a woman. This being a woman. Is a holding back. Words caught in the throat. Pebbles, rocks, boulders,. But isn't it the stones. That make the river sing? This being a woman. Is a flowing around. A liquid grace,. A sinuous tenacity,. What obstacle has ever. Stopped a river in flow? This being a woman. No matter how much. The world breaks you,. Were you not always. This being a woman. Amidst a world that. Denies you your dignity,. Finding a world inner,. This being a woman.
