About The COI Committee. The Conflict of Interest Committee (COIC), chaired by Dr. Craig S. Wilcox, Professor and Research Integrity Officer, is responsible for the oversight and management of potential COIs of the University’s employees and the institution itself. The COIC reviews potential conflicts involving human or animal subject research, as well as conflicts surrounding consulting and purchasing activities.

If you are planning to submit a grant application to the Public Health Service (PHS) or for other extramural funding, you must complete COI training in advance of submitting your proposal to the Office of Research. As part of the revised PHS regulations, the federal government has mandated conflict of interest training for all investigators on projects funded or proposed for funding by PHS agencies.
