This is a very good discussion of the Homebuyer Tax Credit program. There are a lot of ifs, and, or buts, and this article clears them up. Always talk to your legal adviser first. For most moderate income people, purchasing this year gets you an $8,000 benefit, that does NOT have to be repaid! Q: Who can claim the credit?
