The first thing that came to my mind was the anniversary of Colby’s first surgery. Well, of course that’s not why the flag is flying at half-mast. But, my flag – the one that’s inside my heart, it’s flying at half-mast. My whole body remembers the day and the days that followed. I want to avoid looking at it and so I hang on to the gratitude that I feel for his life.
