The produce we use is wherever possible sourced locally. Meat and bread is supplied by Oakland and Son, butchers and bakery whilst fruit and veg is provided by Davies Fruit Shops. What could be more traditional on a Sunday than the carvery. A choice of 3 roasts, fresh vegetables. And home made Yorkshire pudding. Available 12:00 - 3:00pm. Monday to Friday food is available between 12:00 - 2:30 pm and 6:00 - 8:30pm. Saturday is 12:00 - 2:00 pm only.

A Georgian property, the pub first appears in Trade Directories for 1870 when Charles Milne was tenant. For many years the pub was the meeting place of Lodge 28 of the Nottingham Oddfellows Friendly Society, one of two lodges in the village. Edgar Daniels was tenant from 1925 until well into the 1960s and was in situ when, in the 1930s, a lion from a visiting circus was encaged in the garden. Troops were billeted here during World War II.

The most haunted pub in the village. There have been numerous reports of ghostly sightings and strange happenings. Rachel used to clean at the pub. Once whilst clearing out the fire she felt someone touch the back of her neck, she turned and again there was no one there. Another time she walked into the back room and saw a man wearing a hat standing at the bar. It was 6am so she asked him what he was doing there, instead of replying he simply vanished.
