My Natural World: June 2015
http://sueimnw.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Discovering nature and photography. Sunday, 28 June 2015. Can't believe I forgot to include Leeds Castle in my last update. Again, not a birdwatching trip as such, but plenty of wonderful birds there, and in one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine. The lake, moat and gardens have swans, geese, ducks and other birds aplenty :. Peacocks roam the grounds, and for the first time ever, I saw peachicks :. There are raptor displays at Leeds Castle too :. Caught a few shots of dragonflies too :. And f...

My Natural World: September 2014
http://sueimnw.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Discovering nature and photography. Friday, 26 September 2014. Random thoughts from September. September has been a busy month for me, but not so much for walking or birdwatching unfortunately. I have been out a few times, so I've compiled some of the moments I particularly enjoyed. I went to Standen for the first time earlier this month. It's a lovely place to wander round, with beautiful views across the surrounding countryside, and it was good to see Robins out and about. Monday, 1 September 2014.

My Natural World: June update
http://sueimnw.blogspot.com/2015/06/june-update.html
Discovering nature and photography. Thursday, 25 June 2015. I've not been out and about much this month, which has been particularly frustrating as the weather has been so good. My garden has fortunately been full of life, particularly with young house sparrows, starlings and goldfinches all competing for attention and food. Down by the seaside I've also been lucky enough to watch terns diving - spent a good hour watching them - no camera though. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

My Natural World: August 2014
http://sueimnw.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Discovering nature and photography. Friday, 29 August 2014. Kingsborough Manor Community Woodland. This is a wonderful place I've just discovered. It constantly surprises me how many places there are to enjoy walking and discovering new natural wonders. At the moment it was a little quiet on the bird front, though there were House Martins skittering around and above the treetops, a Green Woodpecker's distinctive call. But there were butterflies and dragonflies galore! Friday, 22 August 2014. I also saw t...

My Natural World: July 2014
http://sueimnw.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Discovering nature and photography. Saturday, 26 July 2014. Butterflies, dragonflies and horse flies. I spent some time this week at Oare and at Elmley. The sun was shining strongly, the heat produced a shimmer in the air and the light made viewing difficult, but there was a cooling breeze that made it lovely just to walk around. See Robs Birding blog if you want to see more on it.). For me the highlights that day were the butterflies and dragonflies, including this Small Copper - the first I'd seen.
