That man is a real trouper. ). We had a really strong tail wind which drove us along at a good speed and Dave would pop up from the hedgerow and snap our picture with a massive grin on his face. It was cold in the shade. We were on the road with numb fingers before 8 am and sped merrily downwards towards Princeton then up and more up. Cross Canada Tandem Trip 2009. Friday, July 31, 2009. Day 66 Portage la Prairie to Winnipeg. So the promise was to meet the guys at Headingly at noon some 80km away, so we aimed to get on the road by 7:30am. We waited for a Prairie train to cross the road loaded with containers from China on its way to the east and the homes of unemployed Canadians. We sped along for the first 35km on a beautiful new shoulder of jet black asphalt, which with the rain on it gave the impression riding over a big black hole.

Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Ciara and I celebrated our birthday's by going to Monterey for the weekend. We spent a whole day at the aquarium and even though it was very crowded we still got to be amazed by all the exhibits. It wore Fiona out so much she fell asleep eating her dinner. The rest of the time we spent playing on the beach and even went in swimming, we were a bit lazy about taking the camera out and have no picturres to prove it.
