I collected the basil I planted last winter, ate some tomatoes and ground cherries, and made green salsa with the tomatillos. Narcissism for the dubiously modest. This weekend i took the kids to visit my sister in DC. we were in the car and the kids were asking how long it would take us to get where we were going. we told them 20 minutes, unless we got stuck in traffic or lost, etc. what we didn’t anticipate was getting pulled over. Into some parking spots on the side of the street. Which is when i jumped in and explained that that was my child in the backseat, that i knew what he had done and was supportive of his actions....

My move to an ecovillage. January 8, 2015. 60 (15.5) degrees inside, 14 (-10) degrees outside. Today, I’m having trouble heating up the cabin. My goal is to keep the indoor temperature between 65 and 70 degrees. Typically, that happens after about 2 hours of operating the stove. This is a lovely Morso 1410 “squirrel stove”.
