Tri for a cure: March 2012
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Brick workouts, and riding down MoPac! We had a brick workout today where we ride an 8 mile loop down MoPac, then run for 10min (about a mile). Then repeat! Wow, lots of fun. One little problem: I replaced my pedals with clip ins, but the bike shoe cleats were not the right kind. No wonder I couldn't figure out how to clip in! It will be hard to complete my workouts alone in Florida, but the show must go on. How cool is that? We saw a crazy...

Tri for a cure: Saturated
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2012/03/saturated.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Saturday, March 10, 2012. Today we rode bikes in the rain and got completely soaked. I am so excited about today because I got to ride my new bike for the first time. Last week, I completed 9 miles in 64 minutes. Today, we had to cut our workout short due to the thunder and pouring rain, so I only rode for 41 minutes, but still completed 9 miles! What a difference a bike makes! Calvin and Casey Toole. Tri for a cure: February 2011
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Wow, what a week! Kayla has had the flu since Monday and I (Casey) have been in Dallas all week. I was able to get my Wednesday workout in, but drove all day Thursday and missed my 5 mile easy run. When I got to Round Rock, I came home to a house full of sick! I am pretty excited to see my teammates for our first run in Georgetown! We are super excited about our upcoming fundraisers, the Wine Tasting on March 31st and Casino Night. Silen...

Tri for a cure: First Brick Workout - Cycling Rookie!
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2012/02/first-brick-workout-cycling-rookie.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. First Brick Workout - Cycling Rookie! On Saturday we had our first brick workout. What is a brick workout? It is when two sports are combined on the same workout. We went down south to the Veloway and rode bikes for an hour, then we went on a 10 minute run. I am a novice at this whole tri thing and have never rode my bike on asphalt. I have a mountain bike and hence have always rode on trails. This is what my set up looks like:. From what...

Tri for a cure: Its all about technique
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2012/02/it-all-about-technique.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Monday, February 20, 2012. Its all about technique. Everything we do is all about the technique. If the form is bad you hurt somewhere. In running its the knees or feet. In swimming it's the shoulders. I started having some pain in my shoulders after swimming, so I had Calvin take some video of me during the last portion of my workout, to see just what I am doing wrong. As an aside my fundraising letters went out this week! Calvin and Casey Toole. Sail and Ski Austin.

Tri for a cure: Capitol 10K and training fun

To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Capitol 10K and training fun. Wow what a busy month! Today Calvin and I ran the largest 10K in Texas, the Capitol 10K in beautiful downtown Austin. It was packed, a huge number of people and weird ones! They were keepin' it weird here in Austin. I loved all the unofficial bands playing on front porches of homes, the street corners, parking lots, and the back of a truck. How about the unofficial cold beer station? He's gonna be sore tomorrow :).

Tri for a cure: April 2011
http://tooleteamintraining.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
To Donate to Team in Training and LLS. Tuesday, April 12, 2011. We are just days from our Zooma Half Marathon. This one is in Bastrop, which is just southwest of Austin at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort. I have to admit when we first signed up I had a lot of anxiety, but since then we have had a few long runs including some personal records: 10, 12, 14 and 16 miles! I am back to normal! Tonight he had a Tui Na. And have my leg taped up. It seems to help. I have found that maltodextrin. And they put it in lo...
