The story of Britain's bloodiest Battle when 28,000 were slaughtered near the village of Towton. Soldiers from across the country congregated at these medieval killing fields and their ensuing conflict changed the course of history. This battle brutally closed the opening phase of the 30 year conflict now known as the Wars of the Roses. 13 th March 2017.

Soon after the formation of the Royton Local History Society the committee decided that it needed a high profile project to establish itself firmly into the fabric of the town.
