December 20, 2007. Destructor not getting called for an object in an ASP.NET web form. 8212; mpknet @ 2:51 am. We noticed this when debugging an IDispose() implementation for an object. However when forced to garbage collect for testing, ( GC.Collect() ), the destructor was being called. Further research showed that we need to override the page function instead. Public override void Dispose(). One of the base dispose function calls GC.SuppressFinalize(), causing Destructor not being called.
