http://familyandfood-slender.blogspot.com/2009/10/joyce_28.html
A collecton of food memories. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Joyce McClure (née Slender), who preferred to be known as ‘Joy’, was the youngest of the nine children born to our grandparents. She was definitely a ‘mistake’ and remained very sensitive about this until the end of her life. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Sea and Me.

Family and Food: Ivy
http://familyandfood-slender.blogspot.com/2009/10/ivy.html
A collecton of food memories. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Ivy, first born to Rosina and Fred Slender, was the undisputed culinary star of the family. It has been said that she ‘cooked with love’. Nothing could be truer. I recall summer evenings sitting in the back garden of her Earlwood house, Cocky swearing enthusiastically, “You bugger! She also made Blitz torte by sandwiching two cakes with custard. Each cake had a layer of meringue as well as the cake layer. The meringue layers formed the to...

Family and Food: Nana's House
http://familyandfood-slender.blogspot.com/2009/10/nanas-house_28.html
A collecton of food memories. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Our Nana, Rosina Victoria Slender (née Hopwood), much to her chagrin, was delivered of nine babies, all of whom thrived and grew into healthy children and young adults. My mother, Joyce, was her youngest. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Sea and Me.

The Inner Thoughts and Secret Life of an Urban Dog. Friday, December 07, 2007. Did I tell you that The Parents have turned up? They came through the front gate just the other day full of hugs and smooches. 8220;Oh Bizzie Boy we’ve missed you so much little dog,”. Says The Mother. Why does she call me ‘little dog’? I’m not a little dog. I’m not a puppy. She still thinks that I am a little puppy after all these years! Well I’m not. I am Otto Edvard Leopold. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Inner Thoughts and Secret Life of an Urban Dog. Sunday, September 16, 2007. Keepa here again. Seems I made a mistake - You're actually my UNCLE BIZ. I'm only a little kid and it takes me a while to learn everything about my relatives. My mum is Kirra and she's your half sister so that makes you my half Uncle but I don't want no half uncles. How can one have half an uncle? Sounds silly to me.Lick, licks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dogs' christmas party 2011. Dogs' christmas party 2011.

The Sea and Me
http://theseaandme.blogspot.com/2007/11/beginning.html
Wednesday, November 7, 2007. No-one ever thought of me as a water baby. Before sailing, my boating experience included two or three miserable childhood trips on Sydney’s Manly ferry (I was always afraid of this after my mother told me about the ferry that capsized when everyone aboard rushed to one side of the vessel for some long forgotten reason) and an occasional ride in my cousin Brian’s skiing / speed boat in the days when family outings included a Sunday visit to the Hawkesbury. They would each say.

Saturday, March 24, 2007. A Visit to Sydney. I left the heat of Brisbane behind last week and flew south to Sydney so that I could finalise my mother’s estate and gather more information about ancestors whose stories continue to elude me. The Inner Thoughts and Secret Life of an Urban Dog. Saturday, March 01, 2008. The Drought has Broken. This photograph of me was taken in the park in the rain by Charito who was visiting Brisbane from Sweden. Her doggie was Mr Who. He was a distant relative of mine but he crossed the rainbow bridge some time ago. It’s time for me to hide. The Mother has got the idea into her head that I need a bath and as she can use the hose for an hour this afternoon I think that it is time to vamoose. Hi Big Biz,.
