mamma laura's house: why science is mind-blowingly wonderful
http://mammalaurashouse.blogspot.com/2012/02/why-science-is-mind-blowingly-wonderful.html
For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. Why science is mind-blowingly wonderful. I mentioned briefly in a previous post. That at one point I wanted to become a physicist and work for NASA, and how some of that desire was motivated by money. To be fair to myself, though, I did have, and still have, a genuine enthusiasm and curiosity about space, the universe, and the scientific laws and concepts that describe our existence. All that to say - "Hey, I watched an amazing video! If you were...

mamma laura's house: instead of writing anything tonight. . .
http://mammalaurashouse.blogspot.com/2012/02/instead-of-writing-anything-tonight.html
For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. Instead of writing anything tonight. . . I made Valentine's snack cakes, from this recipe. I probably won't make them again because they were so time consuming. My mom really likes the Little Debbie's snack cakes, so this was my attempt to make something (hopefully) a little better. I did start another, more serious post, which I will finish tomorrow, when my hands will no longer be coated with pink chocolate. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

mamma laura's house: art, part I
http://mammalaurashouse.blogspot.com/2011/10/art-part-i.html
For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. Art, part I. Did you know that I used to be "into" art? Not I I kept doing photography on a pretty minimal basis, hardly enough to even call it a hobby. That was about it. Then my dad died at the end of that year. He said. Nothing intimidating. It didn't have to be good. Just try. So I gave in, and I painted, and I made this one here. It's just a little guy, kind of an icebreaker. Then, a few months later, I made another one, a collage. Feelings)...

For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. And, if you are extra nerdy, you will also know today is Einstein's birthday! Here's how I celebrated today:. mamma laura's house: theme song
http://mammalaurashouse.blogspot.com/2012/02/theme-song.html
For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. Do you remember the TV show Ally McBeal. I watched the whole series while I was in high school. My parents thought I was asleep already, at least, my mom thought I was asleep. I'm pretty sure my dad felt bad that my bedtime was so early and looked the other way most nights. Don't get me started on that whole bedtime thing, either. Oh, right. Ally McBeal. Right now, my theme song is from Florence The Machine's newish album, Ceremonials. Subscribe ...

For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. Come back soon, babies! I'm still working on this one. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). http://mammalaurashouse.blogspot.com/2012/02/in-spite-of.html
For my babies, my babies' babies, and everyone in between. I was watching Adele on the Grammys last night, immensely enjoying each time she won another award. I was really excited for her, as though somehow we were good friends. I thought, "Yeah, good job, you! As she alluded to in one of her acceptance speeches, somehow a crap relationship had turned into something far beyond what she could have imagined - a gut-wrenchingly beautiful song, a well-done album, and now two (additional) fistfuls of awards.
