Conversations with my camera . . . Nepal Earthquake – beyond the debris. May 1, 2015. A visit to the World Heritage Sites in Lalitpur and Kathmandu district. Patan Durbar Square is situated at the centre of Lalitpur city. It is one of the three Durbar Squares in the Kathmandu Valley, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal on April 25, creating huge damage to Patan Durbar Square. It is now restricted for public visit for sometime. UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Conversations with my camera . . . Nepal Earthquake – beyond the debris. May 2, 2015. Around 80 percent of the houses have been damaged in Sankhu. (District Kathmandu). Most of the damaged houses were old buildings, constructed with mud and superficially layered with bricks. Nepal Scout volunteering in Sakhu village to salvage whatever is left from the damaged houses for the earthquake affected families. Conversations with my camera . . . Nepal Earthquake – beyond the debris. While walking around Kathmandu Durbar Square, a woman selling watermelons in front of a relief camp caught my attention. Perched on a stool in broad daylight, with the damaged heritage site in the background, she was making an effort to sell her stuff to people passing by. Most of the petty shops, small restaurants and cafes around Basantpur area are now closed due to the earthquake. And was tagged with disaster. Fill in your detail...

Conversations with my camera . . . Little hands from Ottawa make all the difference . . . Humanitarian aid is reaching Nepal from all corners of the world. Organisations and individuals at their own level are trying to contribute their bit for Nepal. George, Oliver, Vasu, Vani, Josh, Owen, Zari, Claire and Awa made a donation on behalf of the children of Old Ottawa South to UNICEF’S relief efforts in Nepal. Since the Canadian government matches the funds, they really donated $650. And was tagged with aid.
