The first draw was quickly followed by a second major fundraising. Scoil Dara’s fundraising endeavours have been minimal since the establishment of the school. However, the school is greatly indebted to parents for their annual voluntary contributions. Without this financial support of parents the school would be unable to offer the current level of supports and assistance.

Scoil Dara is a Catholic school under the trusteeship of CEIST. Scoil Dara was established in 1991 following the amalgamation of Meanscoil Iosaif CBS (boys) and Presentation Scoil Iosa (girls). Thus Scoil Dara inherits a long tradition of service to education and society. Our Oratory, provided by the Parents’ Council in 1999, in an expression of the school’s wish to contribute to the moral and spiritual development of students and staff.

Students from all year groups are welcome to attend the meetings that are held weekly. Students take on different responsibilities. Some take on contacting the battery recycling company, others for the cleaning of different areas of the school, some bring intercom announcements to Mr.Gannon and others are constantly working on building up awareness of what we are about as a group.
