Sunday, 21 September 2014. Went to Channory Point yesterday. Passed my camera to Jamie on Stakkr . will add more later. Thursday, 11 September 2014. Blazing hot sun and not a breath of wind. Motored to Kessock bridge but made no headway against the extremely high tide so turned and headed for the canal entrance. Dolphins galore in the tide rips from the river Ness. Sailing and maintaining the Honeybee a traditional scottish yacht. About the Honey Bee. Origins of the Design. Sanday is one of several Honey Bees built in East Germany after construction at home became too expensive. She was built in Potsdam and was exhibited at the London Boat Show in 1965. Sailing and maintaining the Honeybee a traditional scottish yacht. About the Honey Bee. Origins of the Design. They think it’s all over, it isn’t now. Oh what happened to you,. Whatever happened to me. What became of the people we used to be? It happens to us all, even The Likely Lads. 60’s/ 70’s sitcom characters. Theme tune lyrics above. Suddenly it seems it might be all over, well it isn’t now. ( misquote Wolstenholme 1966. I had just settled down with a dram and Classic FM. Back to basics, I have bee...

Sailing On – The Honeybee Yacht

Sailing and maintaining the Honeybee a traditional scottish yacht. About the Honey Bee. Origins of the Design. This is what the remains of thirty years of boat projects looks like. On the bright side many happy memories came flooding back, a laminated tiller from a GP14, another from a Flying Fifteen and lots of bits from eleven years ownership of. It might be just a pile of wood to you but its a skip full of memories for me. Its time to sail on from the house I have called home for so long but.

Saturday, 28 June 2014. 5 Yachts Enter Caledonian Canal. Had thought of heading for Cromarty today but the wind and tide were against me. Went up to the canal entrance where five yachts, two Swedish, were entering. Drama when I thought I had tangled in an anchor rope but it was my jib halyard streaming behind. Thursday, 26 June 2014. Scottish Nazional Party : August 2014
http://davesailor.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, 30 August 2014. On Friday motored to the Mickle Mee bouy where I stopped the engine and hoisted the sails - looked back and discovered I had nearly hit the bouy due to tide taking me back. Had seen the Vic 32 puffer leaving the canal when I was on the train. Later towards Channory Point a huge plume of black smoke marked her position. I recalled going up Neptune's Staircase behind her in Shafa(1) 2009, my deck covered in soot. Thursday, 28 August 2014. Tuesday - Cloudless day but very windy.

Scottish Nazional Party : Channory Point and Back
http://davesailor.blogspot.com/2015/06/channory-point-and-back.html
Friday, 12 June 2015. Channory Point and Back. Yesterday, 11th June, best day of summer or only day of summer so far. Flat calm, warm sun, motored under the Kessock Bridge then a little wind got up as did the sails. Tacked towards Avoch and Fortrose the nearing the Point it began to get colder and I tireder so swung round and ran goosewinged almost to the bridge. When I got back to my pontoon I made a complete hash of berthing. Several 3 point turns to get alongside. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
