SGSF SAIL ON: Day one of Seafarer Sail On

Monday, June 14, 2010. Day one of Seafarer Sail On. The girls have arrived for S.A.I.L. on 2010 and we're off to a great start! The program will take us on a 14 day sailing trip around the outer banks of North Carolina. The girls arrived on the afternoon of June 13th and are spending their first two days at Camp Seafarer getting acquainted with the boat and prepared for the trip. We set out tomorrow morning, hoping to make it to the Pungo River near Bellhaven, NC by tomorrow evening.

By tomorrow evening we hope to reach Manteo and with a south wind we should be able to sail most of the day, a stark contrast to the long motor through the canal today. Friday, June 18, 2010. A fun filled day here in Manteo! The crew headed to Jockey's Ridge State Park in Nags Head for the morning and lunch. We grilled some bratwursts and then headed to the beach for a swim in the ocean. They even enjoyed the hands on area of the aquarium in which they were able to pet sting rays.
