Bellydancing diary from Istanbul. Jan 29, 2012. Keeping warm, sleeping well, eating well, but still. Another cold day in istanbul today. Jan 27, 2012. Now that I’ve known quite a few Western names, it’s not that difficult to memorize them, but Turkish names are still a little difficult. In Turkey, their names have meaning in it. (In Japan and some other countries (languages), too.). Hmmm I don’t know if I’m very happy about my name if I was called “Enough! Jan 25, 2012. It was such a great weekend-trip.

Oriental Journey: November 2011
http://oriental-journey.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Bellydancing diary from Istanbul. Nov 30, 2011. Another music for tip time #2. I just remembered another song for tip time. This is also a Turkish song, and everyone knows and loves it. Just wondering how genuine his cat-ish smile is. :P. Nov 28, 2011. Went out with some friends from internship, and their friends. One of us was a darbuka player, and his band had a live performance that night. It was rock in Turkish style, so they played Turkish 9/8 roman rhythm in a rock way. Nov 26, 2011. Nov 25, 2011.

Oriental Journey: February 2012
http://oriental-journey.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Bellydancing diary from Istanbul. Feb 28, 2012. I read somewhere that tipping culture (dancers get tips on their costume) was seen even in the Ottoman time. I really hated getting tips on my costume first. It felt vulgar, and degrading my own value as a woman. But, after all, you cannot really dance when you are around the table for tips. The space around the tables is too small for movements that I want to do for the music, swaying my arms, turning, putting some nice accent, etc. But, I want to dance!

Oriental Journey: January 2013
http://oriental-journey.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Bellydancing diary from Istanbul. Jan 18, 2013. Music scene in Amsterdam. Since the party the other day, I've been wondering if there is any dance clubs in Amsterdam where they play Hip-Hop, R&B, latin pops, etc., because everyone at the party seemed very happy about hearing and dancing to techno, house, and 80's all night. So, let's ask Mr. Google! Almost all clubs in Amsterdam play ONLY techno, house, and some 80's! Hmmm, I see. Hip-Hop and R&B are really American culture, I guess. Jan 8, 2013. And I f...

Oriental Journey: break time..
http://oriental-journey.blogspot.com/2012/11/break-time.html
Bellydancing diary from Istanbul. Nov 28, 2012. Just realized that I didn't post anything for more than a month! Things have been a bit hectic. But I'm having a bit of a break today. It's just the starting point now, and I'm finally about to start the reality, though. Nothing went smoothly in Turkey, but not in the Netherlands, either. But, so what? All you can do is to just do it, one by one, once you've decided on it. I'll write again soon. Happy Day and Happy Dancing :). View my complete profile.
