Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Meeting 5b: Making Kefir. Taught by Jeannine Tripp. Transfer the kefir grains to up to 4 cups of fresh milk. Cover with a coffee filter or cloth secured by a rubber band. Place in a warm spot, 68-85 degrees, to culture. Culture until milk is slightly thickened and aroma is pleasant, generally 24 hours. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Meeting 5a: Making Sour Cream. Put together by Shannon Davis. Recipe I (from allrecipes.com):. 188; cup milk (I used whole milk). 190; tsp white vinegar. 1 cup heavy cream. Combine the milk and vinegar and let stand for 10 minutes. Pour the heavy cream into a jar. Stir in the milk mixture, cover the jar, and let stand at room temperature for 24 hours. The weather cooled off a bit for a weekend, so we went hiking with Ryan,. Paige and Paige's parents at Rattlesnake Ridge. Ryan had Vince, Paige had Jake, and I had Ella. And man, we powered up that thing. Ryan and Paige don't mess around on hikes.haha. But there was a very rewarding view at the top! We trekked up that thing.
