Morning Coffee Memories | Realizing Life —Every, Every Minute

Realizing Life Every, Every Minute. And so I leave the Arena and its back porch with the knowledge that one day any number of sights or smells, like the espresso and creamy milk of Bern, may remind me of those small moments that bring clarity and simple beauty to a life replete with pattern and structure, and that while sometimes mundane, builds a life more beautiful and full and worth remembering than I ever could have imagined. Waking Up in New York City | Realizing Life —Every, Every Minute

https://sethbarker.wordpress.com/2014/10/22/waking-up-in-new-york-city

Realizing Life Every, Every Minute. Waking Up in New York City. A collection of eleven thoughts from eleven hours in the big apple. That’s not a lane! Harrison and I yelled at Tim who sat tense behind the wheel constantly looking back over his shoulder like a guilty child afraid he would be caught escaping into the large city. Oh wait, yes, it is lane I think. Sometimes. I pointed vaguely out the window. 8220;You said no right-on-red? Tim asked calmly while waiting at another light. How many cups of coff...

Realizing Life Every, Every Minute. Homily delivered to the English Church in Villars, Switzerland on Sunday 10 July 2016. Readings: Deuteronomy 30:9-14 & Colossians 1:1-14). 8220;May the words of my mouth and the meditations of all our hearts be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer.”. In conjunction with these readings, I was also particularly struck by the collect set forth in the Episcopal Church. They pray this week that we may know and understand what things [we]. It’s a natural question, I believe, to ask over the course of changing lives; we had been on our fair share of adventures together and I didn’t want that to end. The Soon-Not-Yet: A Meditation on Advent | Realizing Life —Every, Every Minute

https://sethbarker.wordpress.com/2014/12/01/the-soon-not-yet-a-meditation-on-advent

Realizing Life Every, Every Minute. The Soon-Not-Yet: A Meditation on Advent. Advent is a season in which we are reminded to wait and hope in God’s coming redemption. It is both solemn and celebratory. We join our voices with all Christian history to proclaim that which has already occurred, the birth of Christ! At this realization I became deeply disappointed in my first experience at the opera. The playbill promoted this story as one of redemption, a church parable it was even called. I felt an...The s...

song on the mountain: changing my fate.

http://songonthemountain.blogspot.com/2014/03/changing-my-fate.html

Photo of the week. Thursday, March 27, 2014. This happens every year, I resolve to be more present in this space at the beginning of January, and for that month I'm totally on it, writing and posting fairly often. Then it tapers a bit in February and then all of a sudden boom. I'm gone, and there are one or two stray posts here for the remainder of the year. It seems like things are going that way this year too, but I'm here to change my fate in this space! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive for October, 2011. October 31, 2011. Can you guess what Bella was? A New Shade of Paint. October 17, 2011. Last night after church, we walked into the city center to watch, what appeared to be a bunch of teenagers getting into trouble…. Switzerland’s beautiful parliment building was covered in paint! The Swiss were going crazy! Ok, not really…. It ended up being a light show which was being projected off the Bundeshaus. The special effects were amazing! He wasn&...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Aletschgletscher (it’s a long one). September 27, 2011. Two years ago today, a sweet little puppy was born. We are so thankful to have her as a part of our lives. I can’t imagine our lives without her! She really didn’t want to wear her birthday hat this year. For her birthday, we got her a wooden toy, where we can hide treats under sliding doors and she has to find them. This dog will do anything for food. How else do you think I got that hat on her? Build a web...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; Boo turns 2! A New Shade of Paint. October 11, 2011. Two weekends ago, Andy and I took a 2 hour trip with our car to Annecy, France. We wanted to celebrate the last weekend before I started working 100% at my job. (The main reason why it took me so long to post these pictures). We had an amazing weekend. The weather was like the middle of summer, the village simply charming, and the scenery stunning. What more could one ask for? He said they tasted pretty good.

The colors, the crisp air, and all the fun traditions which come with this season have made me literally giddy. I love this season! How did I live without it for most of my life? A couple of weekends ago Andy and I decided to go for a walk in the vineyards above Lausanne. I love this place! The colors were amazing in the Fall!

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Archive for August, 2011. August 25, 2011. Andy and I (and Bella of course) went kayaking on the lake of Gruyère at the beginning of spring this year and absolutely loved it. We had been wanting to do it for a while and were definitely not disappointed. The lake was so peaceful and the scenery breathtaking. Last weekend we finally went! We packed up the kayak and headed out! And myself headed out on our journey (no picture, sorry). Plan B: find a new island…. We found t...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Part II: Santa Margherita and Portofino. September 14, 2011. The last two days of our vacation were spent in Santa Margherita and Portofino. One of the highlights from this part of the trip was staying in a real castle! We had a beautiful room! With an amazing view! Plus we had free access to explore the tower…. I felt like royalty. We decided to take a boat trip out to the small little village of Portofino. The village was full of color and charm! September 12, 2011.

Photo of the week. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Dear Josie - On the Cusp of Eighteen Months. You love putting stuff on your head and walking around, wait for us to laugh at you. Whether it's a mesh clothes hamper or my sweatshirt, or a little wicker basket, you put it on your head and get this adorable look on your face as you await our inevitable delighted laughter. Some things that you really love are: BOOKS! Though you still manage to give me mini heart attacks all the time. In short, you're my daughter...

I design and handcraft all the jewelry and metalwork you'll find here in my studio, creating one-of-a-kind, limited edition, and custom jewelry from copper, brass, and assorted silver alloys, as well as a variety of stones, shells and other materials. What I love most about creating jewelry is the craft itself; I spend a great deal of time learning new techniques and honing old skills, from photo-etching to blacksmithing. SETH BARNES - visual artist

Inspired by science fiction and horror genres of film, my paintings and drawings simulate a film still. The intention of my work is to examine the human condition, focusing on fear, paranoia, identity, and other extreme feelings. By using a narrative form and often following a linear flow, I create figures and characters who are forced to confront these human afflictions, often amidst a psychological frenzy.
