The Void and the Man, Part I - Out of Position
http://persuadeo.nl/void-man-part
Learning & Relearning. The No Limit Poker Blog. The Void and the Man, Part I. Published December 3, 2016. Isolating, never mind opening, like cbetting, is overrated these days. No one folds. Everyone loves you splashing it in there, trying to define your hand, hoping something good will happen. They call 12x opens, they flat behind with aces. As poker knowledge grows and the pernicious influence of the Poker Educators waxes, trickery becomes commonplace. Tougher, it’s ten handed here at the Borgata.

Why am I doing this on a Friday night? And the turn brought the diamond flush. I don’t remember the turn action, but the river brought a 4th diamond. The guy checked. Oh shit, what aces did I have? One of the main challenges to deal with is the multiway raised clusterfucks these games here are known for. I’ve. October 21, 2016.

First Hand - Out of Position
http://persuadeo.nl/first-hand
Learning & Relearning. The No Limit Poker Blog. It has been exactly one year since I turned in my resignation, with expectation and fear, to my stooped and broken employer. I’m sitting today in the same café which was my escape from the office. How the sun shines; was it so cheerful while I labored for someone else? I’m out of position, but I’m not folding. Hand Histories: Why and How - Out of Position
http://persuadeo.nl/hand-histories
Learning & Relearning. The No Limit Poker Blog. Hand Histories: Why and How. Published July 10, 2016. Hand histories are both overrated and underrated, but if done correctly, can be entirely useful for the writer, reader, and all participants. Critics of hand histories or of poker forums, such as Matt Berkey. A hand history is never about the hand itself. What hand histories ultimately reveal are what players think about. They are. And who cares about the sample on its own? And who cares about. Well, let...

Confessions of a Local Fish: All is Quiet

Confessions of a Local Fish. Life Musings from a guy living in Las Vegas and NOT Gambling. There was an error in this gadget. Thursday, January 15, 2015. The house is currently quiet. Eight days until everything changes. Eight days left to enjoy the quiet, the calm. There is a storm a'brewin' and that storm is another member of the grrouch household. By the end of the night I added a window blind (in a box) and a bed frame, both of those were not there when the trash-man came. I did a major refresh on my...

Coaching - Out of Position
http://persuadeo.nl/coaching
Learning & Relearning. The No Limit Poker Blog. I am presently available for coaching live, low stakes cash game players. I don’t think coaching is for everyone, never mind my coaching; I just don’t see the need. Observe that most players lose because they just don’t work or think or try very hard or even care: pretty simple. While I have insight into the mental game, I’m not particularly interested in coaching it or giving life lessons – my model is focused on poker strategy and excellence. Each spot in...

Adventures of an Ace: August 2016
http://adventuresofanace.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2016. Fun in the Sun. Today's post is about an afternoon round of golf. Well, to be exact, it was only 9 holes of golf. Off we went. On the first hole, a 156 yard par 3, I hit a decent 7 iron but it was off the green. I chipped on but left myself a 20 foot putt. Wouldn't you know it, I rolled it in! The next two holes were par threes. I managed to par the 174 yard hole after hitting the green and bogey the 191 yard hole. No complaints there. The seventh hole was a 355 yard par 4. ...

Adventures of an Ace: December 2016
http://adventuresofanace.blogspot.com/2016_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 31, 2016. The Last Post of 2016. Today's post will be a summary of 2016. I'll cover few topics including poker, golf, and blogging. Let's start with the most positive topic: golf. 2016 will be remembered as an enjoyable year of golf. I'm not sure how many rounds I played but it is safe to set the over/under at 30. The scores were decent and on average I played to a 15 handicap. I got to play at some nice venues and it wasn't that expensive. Thursday, December 22, 2016. And I bet $20...
