Inside the Base: April 2009
http://insidethebase.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
How did we get here? Sunday, April 5, 2009. April 4, 2009 - Honesty. Hearing lies, when you know them to be lies, is sad. To know that deception is the new requirement to win student elections is even sadder. Look, if what you believe, as I do, that recruiting candidates and sharing information (not resources, not volunteers) with them is not against the rules, then why deny you did it? Why don't you ask the SAC to draw the line between what's public and what's private? No one should have to choose.

Inside the Base: January 29, 2007 - Crossing The Line
http://insidethebase.blogspot.com/2009/03/january-29-2007-crossing-line.html
How did we get here? Wednesday, March 18, 2009. January 29, 2007 - Crossing The Line. Latest news in the Rancourt saga: Despite an offer of settlement. In which he completely gave up his "no grades" policy, it looks like Denis Rancourt will be dismissed by the Board of Governors on March 31. Understandably, after going that far and enduring all the negative media reports, the university can't just back down now. In other words: don't only "pick your battles", but be wise in how you fight them. The events...

Inside the Base: April 25, 2008 - The Enemy
http://insidethebase.blogspot.com/2009/03/april-25-2008-enemy.html
How did we get here? Sunday, March 15, 2009. April 25, 2008 - The Enemy. This is a truism of politics: few things can unite people like the struggle against a common "enemy", whether this enemy is personal or impersonal. Last April, 3000 students. And a slightly controversial trip to New Orleans to campaign against the SPP. Now the Code is gone, and some people in the movement need a new enemy. But what happens when the new enemy is part of your membership? You think that the SAC is a legitimate instance?

Inside the Base: November 23, 2008 - Control
http://insidethebase.blogspot.com/2009/03/november-23-2008-control.html
How did we get here? Tuesday, March 17, 2009. November 23, 2008 - Control. My last post ended in a naive, yet important question: why would some people in the student movement weaken their own credibility by putting themselves in overt conflict of interest situations? Let's continue with the CFS referendum example. If you had asked a well-trained Yes campaigner, you would have received the standard justifications for the referendum process, such as:. Q: Why bring outside CFS campaigners? There are people...

Inside the Base: March 22, 2009 - Choices
http://insidethebase.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-22-2009-choices.html
How did we get here? Thursday, March 19, 2009. March 22, 2009 - Choices. No political group has a monopoly on ideas. Sometimes, getting out of our crowed can help us deal with a difficult problem. Far from being a socialist myself, I was definitely impressed by the October 5 issue of The Agitator. Entitled Building a united student movement. Here are some excerpts most relevant to our current situation:. Unfortunately, patience is scarce when turnover occurs every one or two years and when every student ...

BOA Voice - LiveBlogging the BOA! Saturday, April 4, 2009. Julien goes through the same questions for each candidate. so planned. Julie talks about her conversation with Aminka. Admits she showed Aminka a picture on her laptop.apparently she has a lot of photos on her computer of Seamus. Claims she was trying to connect to the internet and taking a break, and was fucking around with a picture of Seamus (giving him earrings, pretty hair, etc).wtf? Tries to confuse everyone with photoshop terms. bahah.
