Sunday, December 25, 2011. It's funny how Christmas changes over the years. My brothers and I were talking today about the fact that when we were kids, Christmas Eve was the longest day of the year. The Christmas Eve service (which is usually pretty short) felt like it was 5 hours long because we couldn't wait to get home and go to sleep. just so we could wake up! I was (and still am) a dramatic person, so Christmas morning was (and occasionally still is. ha! And Mary said,. And holy is his name. He has ...

story of my life: silence
http://marymargaretc.blogspot.com/2013/05/silence.html
Friday, May 10, 2013. I'm the girl who is awkwardly uncomfortable with silence. I can always find a way to interject, and it's usually in an awkward way. Ha! My family and friends can attest that I'll say random things to avoid silence. I'm a verbal processor, which means sometimes I just need to get my thoughts out there so I can think them through. I've got friends who are fantastic listeners, and I often preface a conversation with, "I just need to say this out loud.". I was reminded last week that Go...

story of my life: Follow-Through
http://marymargaretc.blogspot.com/2013/01/follow-through.html
Saturday, January 19, 2013. I'm not a big fan of making resolutions or setting goals, mainly because I have terrible follow-through. Ha! I've decided that I've got to get over the fact that I haven't been great at follow-through in the past and make some changes. It takes a lot of self-discipline (which I am often lacking) and more than just saying it's something I want to do. Back in December, I went to the 5 Club. Read at least 2 books a month. These are my January books). Jesus Nothing = Everything.

story of my life: Eight Years
http://marymargaretc.blogspot.com/2013/01/eight-years.html
Sunday, January 27, 2013. My life radically changed eight years ago. I'm one of those type-A, structured people who makes plans. I love to put things on a list and check them off. In January of 2005, I was a Junior in college. I was planning on graduating early and moving to Nashville to pursue a career in the music industry. Before I go into the story, let me back up a little bit. With Christie, Courtney, Melody and Jackie. March 1, 2006 - my baptism. This is one of my favorite passages. The planting of...

Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Grief really is a funny thing. It hits you when you least expect it, and it comes in a crazy variety of ways. I turned 30 a year ago tomorrow, and have faced a great deal of unexpected grief in the last year. I ended up in the emergency room with abdominal pain, which was followed up with surgery a few weeks later to remove a tumor on one of my ovaries. (here's the blog post. I faced heartbreak at the end of a relationship. It's honestly hard to put the last 12 weeks into words....

Tuesday, October 16, 2012. Jesus is so much better. I really struggle with fear. At their core, fear and being afraid are two different things - I'm not afraid of being by myself, of bugs or snakes, but I do struggle with fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of people knowing what my insecurities are. You get the point. Fear of messing up. Fear of being inadequate. And "Are you sure you picked the right girl for this? Jesus is so much better than He has to be. You really can trust Him. Out of the miry bog,.

Saturday, February 01, 2014. A few months ago, my friend Mickey asked me if I would run the Nashville Country Music Half Marathon with her. After I laughed for awhile, I realized that she was being serious. This is what flew through my mind:. I'm not a runner. I'm not even sure that I can run for a solid 2 minutes. I can't do it. My brain keeps telling my body "you can't do this." or maybe vice versa, depending on the day. I'm running for Bennett. Here's where you come in. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, February 20, 2012. Today, several of my friends are getting on a plane headed for Nairobi, Kenya, and I wish I was going with them. last year, I had the opportunity to travel to Kenya with Student Life. And see firsthand what Compassion does to release children from poverty in Jesus' name. the work that they are doing there (and all over the world) is phenomenal. I would love to go back, even if I had to cover a whole house in cow dung. Repairing the manata with cow dung. Spending time with Vicky.
