I have a fairly common name – Stephen Bell. If you take into account that some people use Steven Bell and both they and I often use Steve Bell, Wolfram Alpha’s best guess is that there are around 2,500 – 3,000 Steve Bells scattered around the globe. Yes, I was quick wasn’t I? He sent out parish newsletters and di...

Fairway Taxi makes the Olympic opening ceremony complete. A PROPER London Black Cab! It was delightful to spot that when the BBC made the 5 minute film of James Bond escorting the Queen to the Olympic Opening Ceremony, they chose to use an iconic FX4/Fairway Driver London black cab rather than one of those nasty, plasticky new TX models. Fairway Taxi makes the Olympic opening ceremony complete →. This is absolutely stunning. Back in the “old days” (of early ray-tracing software on the Amiga) I’d have been happy to render one frame that looked one tenth as good as this – a process which itself would have probably taken overnight to complete. These days, when we go to the cinema,...

Duets Need TWO People! | Sheila Joynes's Musical Diary
https://sheilajoynes.wordpress.com/2014/02/07/duets-need-two-people
Sheila Joynes's Musical Diary. Musician and Music Teacher. Duets Need TWO People! Well, not necessarily. Two weeks ago, Stephen discovered that duets existed for organ and piano. I was very sceptical – especially as the ones he had found were very evangelical, happy-clappy, American hymns, not at all my line of country!
