There are estimated to be over 10,000 people sleeping rough in the UK, plus a further 100,000 people in temporary accommodation. Have you ever wondered why people become homeless? Whilst it is true that some homeless people prefer that way of living, and some have succumbed to substance and alcohol abuse, there are many other factors too, e.g. Lack of affordable housing.

Sometimes family mediation brings a resolution and sees the young person return home. On other occasions, a room is found in sheltered housing or private rental. Both can take time though and that’s where Nightstop comes in. They provide a short term fix whilst the council and other not for profit organisations find a permanent solution. February 8th, 2016.
