Simply Enchanted Life: Holiday season and a Blessed Yule
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2010/01/holiday-season-and-blessed-yule.html
Thursday, January 14, 2010. Holiday season and a Blessed Yule. This year, our winter holiday celebrations were quiet, subdued and simple. We had hoped to spend Thanksgiving in Michigan, as it has been two years since we have visited our friends and family there. However, things did not work out and we spent it at home. We enjoyed a semi-traditional mostly homegrown feast. Twas the night before Yule, when all through house.not a creature was stirring, not even a. She immediately fell in love with this bea...

Simply Enchanted Life: April 2009
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2009. With spring here, we are spending much of our time outside. We love to hike in the woods and go down to the creek to play. We love to explore, look for salamanders under the rocks, identify new wildflowers, chase butterflies and just enjoy our time together. This weekend it was really warm and we spent it cooling off in the creek. I yelled at him, and then of course had to take a picture. :) If you click the picture you can see it better. Then we jumped right in. Spring always fli...

http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009/10/day-in-greensboro.html
Saturday, September 12, 2009. Over Labor day weekend, my mom was in town visiting and the kids really wanted to take her to the Greensboro Science center. It is not too far from where we live, and the kids always really enjoy it. The inside science museum has exhibits for all ages, lots of interactive hand on stuff. They have several really fun play areas that encourage imaginative play, and learning activities for kids of all ages. This one is a bearded dragon. This Iguana was huge! As we started to hea...

Simply Enchanted Life: Goodbye summer.
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009/10/goodbye-summer.html
Monday, September 21, 2009. I always have a hard time letting go of the summer. So every year, rather than letting myself wallow in end of summer sadness, i really try to embrace the fall season. This means noticing and appreciating the little things that define the season, the colors, the smells, the stillness. We absorb ourselves in fall leaf crafts, apple recipes and lots of hiking and time spent outdoors. We stopped at the rhododendron grove to climb trees for a bit. I believe this is called Turkey t...

Simply Enchanted Life: May 2010
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 10, 2010. Introductions and where i have been. First, i wanted to apologize for neglecting this blog. i have been putting more of my focus on my craft blog, The Enchanted Tree. Then out of the blue about an hour later, the phone rings. The folk with the puppy, said they just had this feeling about us and they really wanted us to have her. So Kenan hopped in the car and drove all the way out to Blacksburg to pick the puppy. We had no idea what a blessing she would be to our family. Fans i deci...

Simply Enchanted Life: July 2009
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Every once in a while, one of our hens disappears. Sometimes they are gone for good, having become a meal for some local predator, and other times they reappear from a secret hiding place with a brood of cute fluffy chicks. i just happened to find this missing hen, Sunny, setting on a clutch of eggs in the weeds around our compost bin. She was sitting on a ton of eggs! Her eggs were the first to hatch. Saturday, July 25, 2009. This local music festival has grown immensely over the...

Simply Enchanted Life: January 2009
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2009. It's good to be queen. Or at least a really cute princess. Sometime after Halloween, i came across this adorable fairy princess costume at the goodwill. It was really too big for Sage now, but too cute to resist. We love dress up here. So i bought it with the intention of saving it for her birthday or even next Halloween. So about a week ago, Sage found the costume and begged to wear it. "Princess dress mama, princess.please! It's tough work being a princess. So i put the kids...

Simply Enchanted Life: October 2009
http://simplyenchantedlife.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 12, 2009. This weekend we decided to check out the Grayson Highlands State park. Besides it's scenic views and great hiking trails, it is also known for the wild ponies that freely roam the confines of the park. It is only about 70 miles from us, and i'm not sure why we haven't hiked here before. We are very accustomed to traveling an hour or so to go just about anywhere. When we first approached the trail head, we saw this sign. Wow! They were not kidding! We only hiked a little bit furt...
