Fiber Art, Mixed Media and Good Thoughts. Welcome to my site. Saturday, August 8, 2015. I'm making a messenger bag for a guy who is a comic book dealer. I printed several comic book covers onto fabric today. I am almost finished cutting the body etc. of the bag. Tomorrow I need to cut the lining and soft interfacing and start assembling the bag. I asked the person getting the bag to send me pictures of some of his favorite books and that is how the covers were chosen that are to be used for the bag.

Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Quilting by the Lake - A Very Special Conference! Jeannette Rossi and her star and Pointy Dude border. The first class was a two-day Sensational Stars and Circular Borders class, followed by the three-day Flying Colors class. Almost everyone signed up for both classes so it was more like one five-day class, my favorite thing to teach. They got a lot done too. Here Irene Dietlin shows off her star with the Flying Diamonds border. Labels: Quilt Venues and Classes. Quilts by Others;.

http://threadscapestudio.blogspot.com/p/bags.html
Fiber Art, Mixed Media and Good Thoughts. Welcome to my site. Just finished a new bag this morning. With flowers blooming right now I was inspired to make this Iris Bag. The flowers were fused in place and zig-zag stitched around the edge. I made the background fabric by free -motion stitching over the surface of a pale yellow fabric that I had back with a fusible interfacing. The inside of this bag has two pockets. I used a simple store bought purple patterned cotton fabric to line this bag. Holly Knott...

Fiber Art, Mixed Media and Good Thoughts. Welcome to my site. I taught a class of 4H girls how to make small landscape quilts. They enjoyed the class, and also brought their own quilts, seen here, to share. I really enjoyed this volunteer teaching job with the 4H girls. Anne Copeland and I cut out kits to give to each girl. It was a day well spent. This is one of my earliest donation mini quilts to help raise money at an auction for Fiberarts Connection. It is paper pieced, so easier than it looks. This ...

Friday, June 26, 2015. Week in Review 2015 - 06/26. This is a detail from the original sunrise photo. Used in Deconstructed Sunrise. Note the shock of yellow. And the blue of the snow on the lake. Tips, Thoughts and Techniques:. This week I worked on making yellow "fabric.". You get up when? They have been spectacular this past week. If only I could capture pictures of them and stay riding. They definitely inspire me to get back to work on Deconstructed Sunrise. 1) Continue piecing Deconstructed Sunrise.

Life's a Quilt: October 2008
http://carolynstewartquilts.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Talk about quilts, genealogy, art, cooking, life happenings, pets, and occasional spurts of inspiration. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Sometimes Fabric Does All the Work. I have talked already about the things you can use for inspiration. Here's another example of being inspired by a piece of fabric. I hand-painted the sky fabric after I had taken a class from the famous Mickey Lawler of Sky Dyes. It makes it look like the moon has lit up the sky just like it does in real life. It didn't take a long time to...
