After making soap for over 10 years I have found that different oils contribute different qualities. Castor oil is derived from the seed of the plant. The castor plant is native to the southeastern Mediterranean basin, East Africa and India. India is the largest producer of castor oil followed by China and Brazil. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Soap Dance: Menasha Market
http://soapcauldron.blogspot.com/2010/07/menasha-market.html
Friday, July 9, 2010. The Menasha Farm Market is a great place to be on a Thursday afternoon! The atmosphere is relaxed and the vendors are terrific. My soap business is not only about selling soap but, more importantly, the relationships that you form with the other vendors. Panhia sells right next to me. She has 10 children - 6 girls and 4 boys! She is so tiny you would never beleive that she has 10 children! Here are some pictures of my set-up at the market:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Lavender Citrus Fusion Soap | My Soapmaking Journal
https://samaradoessoap.wordpress.com/2010/03/07/lavender-citrus-fusion-soap
March 7, 2010 • 8:47 pm. Lavender Citrus Fusion Soap. It’s been so long since I’ve posted – goodness! But I have been making soap sporadically. Lately, I’ve been sticking to my mango butter/coconut oil/olive oil combo – with this combo the soap seems to not dissolve as much/be as slimy as with the olive oil/coco. oil/castor oil combo I had been using. Of course mango butter’s more expensive, but whatever, I like. It…. this is the specific combo:. 15 oz olive oil. 96 oz coconut oil. 74 oz mango butter.
