Eat | Some Infinite Thing
http://someinfinitething.com/category/eat
That glut of zucchini. July 24, 2016. July 24, 2016. Here it comes. That glut of zucchini. It’s finally midsummer when the farmshare box tumbles over with the stuff and it arrives in great heaps to the market. I’m sharing three of those recipes here — two savoury and one sweet — in case you’re elbow-deep in summer squashes and debating how you’ll possibly eat another. Stewed zucchini with golden raisins. Serves four as a side, or a generous portion of pasta sauce. 4 c zucchini, grated. 2 Tbsp olive oil.

February 27, 2015. February 28, 2015. I love a thoughtful link roundup as a way to discover the fantastic writing others are reading and sharing online. Here are my good reads from the week that was. Michael Pollan writes about the use of psychedelic drugs in palliative care. I turn 29 next week, which inevitably has me thinking about turning 30. Elise Blaha Cripe’s essay about the past decade and the one ahead. Was helpful as I consider 29, and all I want it to be. Warby Parker sees the future of retail.
meal planning for two | Some Infinite Thing
http://someinfinitething.com/2014/10/25/uncomplicated-meal-planning-for-two
Meal planning for two. October 25, 2014. June 29, 2016. As we sat on the couch this morning plotting our week’s meals, I realized that this exercise we’ve developed through trial and error over time would be helpful to share. Meal planning only seems onerous. It takes us about 30 minutes each week and a trip to the grocer. Our approach is pretty straightforward and hands-off, guided by a few core principles. First Principles of Meal Planning. Already in the fridge. Depending on our schedule, this is rese...
garlic scapes and chèvre | Some Infinite Thing
http://someinfinitething.com/2015/07/07/garlic-scapes-and-chevre-goat-cheese-recipe
Garlic scapes and chèvre. July 7, 2015. June 29, 2016. It’s garlic scape season, otherwise known as the most wonderful time of the year. (Though: I say this about any fruit/vegetable with fleeting seasonality — rhubarb, zucchini blossoms, strawberries, tomatoes, corn, pomegranates, asparagus, peaches — so don’t mind my hyperbole.). That day came yesterday. I scooped up our market’s stock and quickly headed home to recreate the magical sauce. Garlic Scape and Chèvre Cream Sauce. Reserve the cooking water.

Sometimes, you just have to admit you were well and truly wrong about something. This is a tough post for me to write. But in the interests of not burying the lede, I might as well come right out and say it. I have decided not to continue my master’s program in journalism at the end of the semester. Skip to search - Accesskey = s. Posted in my everyday life. By Maria on 2012/02/19. Of the things that fascinate me but puzzle me most about humans, one is our capacity to wish away the hours and then beg time to stand still in consecutive breaths. The most talented reader I know. Posted a review on goodreads recently about one of my favourite books – Kurt Vonnegut’s. What if we were conscious of time not as a line but as a point, all possibilities raging furiously and brilliantly at once.”. Time doesn&#...

Skip to search - Accesskey = s. Posted in my everyday life. By Maria on 2013/11/20. I’ve mulled over anthimeria’s fate for the better part of two years. Each time a domain renewal notice lands in my inbox, it weighs heavy. And I consider. Relentlessly, to remember how delicious this all is. But as a writer, to stifle my stories has been difficult. I yearn to share, as writers do, and to learn by putting words to paper and rearranging those words until they feel right. And the tickle when, here an...There...

As a child, weddings were regular events played out by my toys. Having been gifted Tracy and Todd (a set of husband and wife dolls complete in wedding attire. One Christmas, I would arrange other dolls and figurines of various sizes into an audience and have the bride and groom process, stand in front of their closest inanimate friends and exchange vows in front a Barbie doll missing her half of her hair. It was a classy and dignified affair. It makes me smile wide to see you so happy. I too didnt ne...
