Oh, how roses can stir our souls. Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Today I harvested a plump hip of (Don Juan X "Spice") and will extract and sow the seeds shortly. All the 4 inch pots of hybrids are now soaked, drained, each tucked into a clear produce bag and are back in a tray at the bottom of my fridge. Hopefully I'll see many germinations this fall. My carpeted driveway out front is now largely weed free due to spraying with two gallons of food grade potassium chloride two weeks ago, and is stained using a concrete colorant of just iron oxide and water. I really like the new clean look. MUCH cheaper than buying a bunch of bags of red mulch that very likely contains arsenic, nickel and chromium compounds. Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
