On the roof in nightgowns, like my mother. Once, she opened her mouth. Out ran. Hang in There, Baby!

New Muse: July 2005

http://agraysonpoems.blogspot.com/2005_07_01_archive.html

My mightiest flights of poesy have / no power to conjure the slightest of her curves. July 27, 2005. Absinthe Makes the Heart go Find Her. Now is the summer of my disconent,. Useless as an empty bottle. I've hurled my disconsolate. Body against walls to shatter. Like glass in alleys after a frat-party;. Thrown shots like a berseker in pitched battle;. Hurtled buckshot and Bacardi. At my lover's ghosts. This summer: an interminable Mardi. Gras desperate to drown itself in tourists,. July 22, 2005. Banish ...

My mightiest flights of poesy have / no power to conjure the slightest of her curves. September 06, 2006. I've decided to take another crack at binding the collections of poems (1998-2005) I gave to Hope last September, just before our wedding- a collection that includes the series of poems that gave this site its name, New Muse. This means I have to re-format the darned thing for eight-page folios- which I'd have to do anyway, since Word dropped all my formatting when I got a new computer.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week: October 2007

http://stevepoetsteve.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Friday, October 12, 2007. One Hundred and Forty Fifth Entry. I'm finding it harder to write poems these days, to be honest. I feel like I can't put two words together. I'm not lacking for inspiration, but somehow I'm lacking something. Oh well, no apologies. I'm working on a revision for a top secret project coming up soon. And also, I'll be reading. In Manhattan in November so watch out for that. In the meantime, here's a kind of halloween-ish one.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. One Hundred and Fifty Fourth Entry. So, it seems almost a lock that I'm starting a reading series! The first one will be on the last Wednesday of May and will feature Nathan Austin and Lauren Ireland. It'll be at Home Sweet Home on Chrystie. St I have more information, but I'll update you dudettes. Also, I went to the Flarf. This poem is being posted especially for Dan Magers. I burn most of the things I own. On fire while my right hand set.

New Muse: August 2006

http://agraysonpoems.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html

My mightiest flights of poesy have / no power to conjure the slightest of her curves. August 27, 2006. Humph After trying a couple of poems using primarily tetrameter, I've decided I don't like it much. Not as much as pentameter and trimeter, at least. Usually, when I use meters of varying lengths, I predominantly use one length, and occasionally substitute a different one. I don't think I'm going to use four-beat lines as the dominant ones anymore, for the most part. Posted by A. Grayson at 3:49 PM.

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week: One Hundred and Fifty-First Entry

http://stevepoetsteve.blogspot.com/2008/03/one-hundred-and-fifty-first-entry.html

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Sunday, March 16, 2008. One Hundred and Fifty-First Entry. I've been staying up very late lately. Who knows why? This poem is part of my Fit to Print series. I bought a new totally manual typewriter, and it's inspiring me to write, mostly fiction, but this poem as well. Peace and hair-grease. URGED AT NIGHT COUNCILS. No effort, and we wander. Our first instinct is to bend like thin fronds. Towards the computer, but I don't. Pennsylvania. To turn the lights on?

OH SWEET DEATH COME FOR ME: what a week. Tuesday, July 31, 2007. One Hundred and Fourtieth Entry. Ingmar Bergman died. That's a bummer. Things are going normally for me, although I'd like to be sending out and doing readings more. I'd just like to be writing more. Here's an idea I tried out using some original lines, some found lines, and Microsoft Excel. Whatever the falling object hits. Notified by the members. Golden heart in harmony. Hand emptied of flying object. Personal defense and "competition".

My mightiest flights of poesy have / no power to conjure the slightest of her curves. June 23, 2005. Pay no attention to the man behind the pinkness. This is pretty much just so I can link to my picture and get this image on my blog template. Posted by A. Grayson at 12:30 AM. St Louis, Missouri, United States. Imagine: can it clean the news-print stain / from your fingers? It will be said again / (as it was, at the start of things, by God) / of all creation, "It is very good.". View my complete profile.
