From Kim Diehl's book Simple Seasons. I have the bottom of the fence unit sewn together, and everything else cut out, but that's about it. Learning to quilt the "new" way with rotary cutter, rulers and machine. Finding lots of ways to mess up. Saturday, September 18, 2010. Recycled T-shirt Rug "Yarn". The t-shirt rug is done. Perfect for wiping my feet when I get home from work. Nine old t-shirts saved from the landfill (3 yellow, 2 pink and 4 green). I used a really big vintage crochet hook about 10 inches long and thicker than a pencil. Here is how I joined the 1 1/2 inch t-shirt strips:. Angle the sides to reduce bulk. Know what I mean?
