Academomia: August 2015
http://academomia.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. Catching up. Which is what I do all semester long. Also, do NOT GET EXCITED, INTERNET. Casa Edwards is at CAPACITY. There was also face painting. Charley asked for "a bass.". Wes went for more of a Gene Simmons look. They did a little rock climbing. Dunked several members of the faculty in the dunking booth. And stayed full on grape snowcones until Ryan got there and we had dinner. Or the rest of us had dinner and Wes ate cookies and brownies and rice crispie treats. Saturday nig...

Academomia: February 2015

Friday, February 27, 2015. Not Safe For If You Are Eating Something. Side note, I bought some earphones and found a station on Pandora called "Power Workout". Life. Changed. I do love the Van Morrison Radio station I listen to all day, but a bunch seventies pot smoking music does little to motivate me through minutes 21-45 of olympic power walking. Dirty, NSFW rap and hip hop is JUST THE THING. I gave it a slightly more direct sniff for confirmation. TOTALLY PUKE. Thursday, February 26, 2015. James and M...

Academomia: July 2015
http://academomia.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. Blame it on the train. Get behind the red line! And "DON'T EAT THOSE OH MY GOD! And there's the little matter of no one liking having to spend time in a urine-scented oven just to go home. Ryan and I were happy enough with the situation, but the kids were having fantasies of being swept away in our roomy, private, air-conditioned minivan where strangers don't yell at you for looking at them. His little shoulders slumped and he groaned "Oh MANNNN! Meanwhile, I was trying to gather a...

Academomia: June 2015
http://academomia.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Kitchen kitchen kitchen KIIITTTCHHHEEENN. I may have mentioned that we are doing a bit of work in the kitchen, yes? Well I have good news, you're not going to have to keep hearing about it because WE HAVE COUNTERS. Counters were the final step in the "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie: Home Improvement Edition" and they came on MONDAY. HAH. LEH. U. JAH. Here's how the story goes, if you are not familiar with it. If you want to eat in the dining room, you have to rip up the carpet.

Belly and The Bug: Camping: Rachael-style
http://bellyandthebug.blogspot.com/2011/07/camping-rachael-style.html
Belly and The Bug. Dude was walking up when we got back to the truck and I said, trying not to sound hopeful, "Are the campsites full? Or is there one for us? He sort of laughed as we loaded up the little crabapples back into their car seats. "Let's head down toward the beach and to another campsite down there. This is obviously too cold." YES! But Dude says I'm not invited on the next camping excursion because suddenly it becomes expensive. And really, that's fine with me. Buggy and Belly in sand heaven.

Belly and The Bug: April 2010
http://bellyandthebug.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Belly and The Bug. They have no idea how much they'll want a nap in 15 years. See these cute little sleeping girls? I took this picture last night. And that was the last time they slept. Why don't they want a nap today? Monday, April 12, 2010. Back when I was preggo with the twinnies, I learned that there are MOM and POM clubs all over the country. You know, Mothers Of Multiples and Parents Of Multiples? Me, being the always patient mother, yelled back, "ENOUGH! EAT YOUR SNACK AND STOP THE SCREAMING!

Belly and The Bug: January 2011
http://bellyandthebug.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Belly and The Bug. That so looks like "twin peaks" to my brain. Huh. Anyway. People have asked me since before the girls could talk if they have their own language. And my answer has always been a pat "no." They don't. They speak English and a smattering of Spanish words. That's it. The end. Have some stuff that is entirely their own language. Four examples immediately come to mind. When one says "let's play podidot" to her sister, she knows exactly what that means. And red bell peppers are peescents.

Belly and The Bug: December 2010
http://bellyandthebug.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Belly and The Bug. Who am I to stop her? The other night I was cooking dinner and Belly was happily hanging on the kitchen door. I smiled at my silly. "Why do you like hanging on the doors so much, Belly? She lowered herself and said sweetly, "It makes my bottom tingle.". Oh Great. Sigh. Thursday, December 16, 2010. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Belly and The Bug: March 2010
http://bellyandthebug.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Belly and The Bug. I don't think I've discussed it here, but my mom went to Costa Rica on December 13th and didn't come back until day before yesterday. SHEESH I missed her. And the girls have relished - truly relished. Having her here. They want HER to put the banana on their plates in the morning. They want HER to read to them. They want HER to play blocks with them. And you know? And clothes shopping all by ourselves. What a treat! Thursday, March 25, 2010. Labels: food and wine. Now I want to be clea...
