30 Years Ago Today: November 2008
http://orangenotebookoflynnemurray.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
30 Years Ago Today. I had an orange notebook. I wrote down everything I read and began writing my own first novel. This blog aimed to contrast what I was reading in in 1975-79 with the same month, week and day, 30 years later in 2005-2009. I'm leaving the blog up in archive mode, blogging in real time on Live Journal- and still writing novels. Lynne Murray's Live Journal and Bride of the Dead Blog. Bride of the Dead: Adventures with the Bride in Book Blog Tourland. A Body Impolitic Interview. Is necroman...

http://lesbianbookclub.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 19, 2014. 2 books; 1 meeting! This October we are trying something a little different, we are reading 2 books by the same author so that we can compare and contrast! We chose 2 titles from Nina LaCour because one of our members tells us they are quicker, lighter reads in the young adult genre. We are looking forward to chatting about Everything Leads to You. In November we are reading Emma Donoghue's The Sealed Letter. We are big fans of Emma D onoghue, having already read Hood. November ...

Edmonton Lesbian Book Club: The Salt Roads
http://lesbianbookclub.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-salt-roads.html
Tuesday, August 28, 2012. Lovely discussion (as usual) of Jeanette Winterson's memoir Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? One member pointed out we were discussing Jeanette's childhood on her birthday, how fitting! Members found some accounts of her childhood to be very painful to read, but all agreed this book is very interesting, and a wonderful read. Next month we're on to Canadian author Nalo Hopkinson's novel The Salt Roads. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monday, July 25 2016. Anshaw, Carol&...

A few statements about popular culture that I believe are true - Gordonzola. March 4th, 2013. 09:47 am - A few statements about popular culture that I believe are true. 1 Downton Abbey may have been watchable in its first season or so but degenerated into mindless Aristocrat porn long ago. 2 Top Chef is anticlimactic year after year. Still fun to watch, but the announcement of the winner is beside the point. 3 There is really nothing one can say about this interview with Chris Brown about CRASS. I didn't...

Scattered Marbles: March 2012
http://myscatteredmarbles.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
I support the radically simple idea that people should not be discriminated against, made fun of, restricted, or oppressed because of the size and shape of their bodies. Moreover, I believe that everyone has a right to dignity, respect, and self-love, and that jokes that denigrate fat people are just as offensive as those that denigrate women or ethnic groups." Marty Hale-Evans. Monday, March 19, 2012. Let me put my Ranty Pants on. Alrighty folks, I need to vent and you get the venting. Links to this post.
