South West Herts Astronomical Society. We have use of our own observatoriy at High Top, Flaunden. Our observatory at High Top was previosly equipped with a 14 inch Newtonian telescope housed in its own dome. The telescope was built by a group of society members led by former Chairman, the late, Allan Swan in 1997/1998. More recently it has been fitted with a custom built computerised 'Go-to' system. The 14 inch Newtonian reflector at High Top. Fitted with a temporary solar filter for the transit of Venus).

South West Herts Astronomical Society. These are held at the Royal Masonic School. In Rickmansworth. This is located on the Chorleywood Road (A404), a short distance north of the roundabout near the station. Venues - Meetings are now held in the Cadogan House Hall - see map below. You can drive through the open barrier at the end of the main car park and follow the road to Cadogan House. When exiting the barrier should still be up, but if it is not, it will raise automatically when approached.

South West Herts Astronomical Society. Lecture meetings held at the Royal Masonic School, Rickmansworth. (See the Location page for map and plan). Meetings start at 8pm. The main talk is followed by refreshments, after which we have a tour of the night sky in the planetarium. All meetings are on a Friday and start at 8pm, unless otherwise stated.
