http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Saturday, August 31, 2013. BRIT NATS 2013 - Sunday 25 August. The weather looked dubious from the start. The day has been cancelled. No surprise. I went to enjoy the afternoon riding the rapids in the Verdon Gorge at Castellane. BRIT NATS 2013- Task 5 (30 August). With the looming cunims, the Task Committee have set a provisionnal task to the west into the flatlands towards Orison and away from the building storm clouds. Thursday, August 29, 2013. PARAGLIDING: January 2013
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Is it too late to wish everyone a Happy New Year? No, it's not! I couldn't resist driving up to launch this morning. Planfait, Annecy was still under snow but the road had been cleared enough to drive up with a 4X4 equipped with snow tyres. Staring at the snow-covered take-off I vowed that the next sunny day would be mine, I will be up there to fly, even if it means only staying airborne for as long as I can feel the brakes. PARAGLIDING: October 2012
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 28, 2012. French Paragliding Team process vs. our own (blog in english). If the British were able to finance a similar support and coaching system along the lines of the French, Swiss and Germans, we would stand a better chance of introducing new pilots and potential world champions into our own country's competition paragliding. Who is our Team Leader? Where and who is our Competition Coach? Isn't that team work in itself? Equipé de gants, bonnet, un thermos de chocco chaud, plus un cous...

PARAGLIDING: November 2012
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 17, 2012. 14th November - Adventure Hike'n'Fly Parmelan (Ang/Fr). Parmelan through the trees. 14h25- I left home, manned with mountain glider and dog. I had planned on the hike taking 3hrs30. It took just under that and would have been quicker had I not had to retrieve my four-legged friend on more than one occasion from places where her obvious chances of dinner were more appealing than a walk. Anglette west-facing grassy take-off, taken from our 16h20 check. 16h20 and finally out of ...

PARAGLIDING: February 2014
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 6, 2014. PWC Mexico, Valle - 6th Feb 2014 "NO FLY". The alarm goes at 06h30 but I'm already awake. My limbs feel heavy or is it the two quilted duvet covers I have on the bed to keep warm? I get up and almost fall over - my legs are so stiff from pushing the bar yesterday. In fact, my whole body feels exhausted! Leaving for headquarters I collect my flight deck which feels double its usual weight and the idea of lifting my pack is a thought of horror! Main Square Valle de Bravo. 2nd, 3...

PARAGLIDING: Belgian Open - Day 4 - ……Getting better all the time
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2014/06/belgian-open-day-4-getting-better-all.html
Friday, June 20, 2014. Belgian Open - Day 4 - ……Getting better all the time. The skies looked temptingly enticing but sadly, the truth revealed strong winds. no Task again today. Surely, there can be nothing more frustrating for an organisation, than to have the weather screw up a years' planning! Before heading back to base via Lipiça, the Slovenia town well known worldwide amongst equestrians, for its breading of Lipizzana (white) horses. Sadly I was not back in Kobarid in time for the organised supper...

PARAGLIDING: Up, up and away...to the Azores
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2015/08/up-up-and-awayto-azores.html
Sunday, August 16, 2015. Up, up and away.to the Azores. Lift off from Geneva airport in a brand spanking new TAP Air Portugal aeroplane . So new that one could smell the plush upholstery and shiny plastic interior. Let's hope there's some steel on the other side of that too somewhere! The Azores miles and miles off the west coast of Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. A special thanks to the Asa flying club and Joao Brum. Posting before lift off. See you in Portugal. Xx. PARAGLIDING: March 2013
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 3, 2013. 2 March - PWC Porterville Task 7- LAST DAY. A 90 or so km task set again into the Constriction valley to goal in ClenWilliams. My narrative will be brief - it was not my most shining performance! After a meagre 26km, landing before crossing the ridge, I had had yet another bad start this week. The 7th and worst start of the week. Landing right there, it was "game over" for me. Overall winner: André Rainsford from South Africa, an over all Female winner Nicole Fedele. Saturday, Marc...

PARAGLIDING: July 2013
http://emmacasanova.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 23, 2013. 13th World Championships. Monday 13th July. Task 5. Well this evening, I've just got home from a BBQ supper with the South Africans. I am now "zapped'" after having 2 mojito's courtesy of Guy Anderson (one of the ugly sisters! And having fought for 4.40hrs endeavour to reach goal after a solo flight round a 130km task. The first gliders start the gaggle into the blue. Task setting Committee and Yassen who wanted a "mountain" task today. And landing 9km short of goal! Poor team, ha...
