We love you Sweden/Romania/Ireland/America! Tuesday, 28 October 2008. Yes, I realise I've been quiet lately, but I've been a little snowed under by the Open University stuff. Also, a quick heads up for any Ipswich fans who may have found their way over here - Ipswich Town First, the Independent Supporters Trust, have a project where they are looking for fan memories of previous - see here. We love you Sweden/Romania/Ireland/America! Saturday, 27 September 2008. Book one - now available as two books. And the first package of year two of my OU course has turned up. The accompanying letter also told me not to worry if there didn't seem to be enough - the rest arrives in January. Phew, I was kind of thiking 1200 pages of material might not be enough. A Sassenach Soliloquy: Life eh? I love it.
http://asassenachsoliloquy.blogspot.com/2005/03/life-eh-i-love-it.html
Tuesday, March 22. I'm just back from a couple of hours with new hobby: swing dancing. After a few beginners lessons, today I moved up to the improvers class, and discovered that. I can do this. I used to do salsa, but haven't had a lesson for years. I always found it tough though; the rewards were excellent, but I always found the lessons taxing. This evening was different; fun and relaxing, and both those things because it was - can I say this? Posted by Thom at 21:26. At 23 March 2005 at 14:51. Board ...

Disappearing Budapest: Eating between Cities

Monday, 17 March 2014. Attempt the world record for the slowest chewing in culinary history? Linger over the soup until the gobbets of fat congealed into a solid carapace? Sup enough beer until the Dutch courage inspired us to stand up to the waitress who looked as if she could take on the entire Welsh rugby team and come out the winner? Under Occupation: A note about this blog
http://adhock.blogspot.com/2005/03/note-about-this-blog.html
Anything dated 2005 or earlier are pieces written during my brief sojourn in Zababdeh, nr Jenin, in the West Bank, working at a University. Anything later than that is an ongoing analysis and critique of the situation in an effort to balance the pro-occupation media which seems to be everywhere. Tuesday, March 01, 2005. A note about this blog. Made it clear that I could probably post them here with much less hassle. Any comments would be welcome. Posted by Andy Hockley at 1:09 PM. I am about to show you ...

Disappearing Budapest: March 2011

Saturday, 5 March 2011. Miksa Róth - genius of stained glass. Walking through the rooms in the apartment where Miksa Róth once lived is a strange experience, as the man who spent his life making stunning stained glass windows and intricate mosaics in a myriad colours, apparently chose to live in surroundings that were entirely in shades of brown. Born in 1865, Miksa Róth was 19 years old when he took over his father Zsigmond’s workshop and the craft of glass painting was still in its infancy. I...This co...
