Becoming Timberman: October 2011

Team Fight Fundraising Page. View my complete profile. Monday, October 31, 2011. I have awesome friends (and an awesome weekend). Sometimes it's easy to take people for granted, especially people in your life you don't see every day. I know I'm guilty of this as much or more than anyone. That's why I was happily reminded this weekend just how great the people in my life are not only to me. but to others and just in general. First of all, thanks to all of you who read Friday's entry and helped John Young.

Run With It: July 2013
http://bensimmonsrunwithit.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 30, 2013. The Kindness of Strangers. Biking around Central Park the other evening, I came upon a cyclist wearing a very cool looking top with the colours of the Union Jack. I struck up a conversation asking him where he got it from, and as we continued pedaling round the park together, I found out he was from Israel, but had worked for the British tourist board, and said he may be able to find a spare for me. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. From Toronto, and Diane Berberian. Aka 'The Iron Maven') f...

Run With It: NYC Triathlon 2013
http://bensimmonsrunwithit.blogspot.com/2013/07/nyc-triathlon-2013.html
Tuesday, July 16, 2013. NYC Triathlon week-end is always full of fun activity but got off to a bad start this year, as first thing on Saturday morning I tweaked my back taking a bag of rubbish out from under the kitchen sink. Breakfast was hosted by John Korff, the owner of the NYC triathlon, and was great. Most of the Achilles crew were there, including some friends we hadn't seen for a while, including John Young. From Toronto, and Diane Berberian. Paratriathletes on the barge. Biking out of transition.

Run With It: September 2012
http://bensimmonsrunwithit.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Fifth Avenue Mile/Westchester Triathlon. When I moved to New York about 8 years ago and started running with Achilles, one of the first races I remember doing was the Fifth Avenue Mile. A nice short distance for a beginner, it starts at 79th Street, just south of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and runs down the side of Central Park to finish at 59th Street on the corner of the park. Are we nearly there yet? After a few stretches and jogs round the block, we were off! After...
