News, Thoughts, Words. Aah, the book. Everyone wants to know about the book. Well, I'll tell you what I can, straight from the source. The first thing that you should know is that, well, it's not out yet. But soon! I'm planning on releasing it independently to Amazon and other ebook publishers. Once I have a decent following, we'll look at a print publication somewhere down the line. I'll also be using this blog to post excerpts! The title of the novel is The Humming Blade. The Humming Blade: Excerpt #2

News, Thoughts, Words. For the second time that day, Wyatt fell out of bed. An intense rumble startled him, causing him to twist and roll. He rolled right off of the stone slab he had been sleeping on, experiencing a brief drop before landing with a harsh thud on the stone floor. He groaned, groping around in the suddenly dark cave, completely off guard, completely bewildered. 8221; Wyatt whispered, staring at the strange golden orbs. They disappeared again, reappearing even further away, and suddenl...

News, Thoughts, Words. Wednesday, February 18, 2015. Well, let's talk about this Kickstarter thing. It's been a slow process, I know. I'm aware and really, I'd be upset about it if I weren't so committed to doing the thing right. I have other stories I want to write and other things I want to do, and I've been ready for a long time to move forward with this career. But I have to do this carefully. News, Thoughts, Words. Sunday, November 2, 2014. On wicks and gunfu. Time to talk movies! I went to one this weekend and it was cool, so let's discuss it. Gif credit to stay for the credits. I appreciated the dark color palette that was contrasted with bright, almost neon lights. The world felt like a place that knew exactly how grim and bleak it really was, but chose to dress itself up in a snazzy dress anyway and do what it does best. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Humming Blade: Excerpt #3
http://www.thehummingblade.com/p/excerpt-3.html
News, Thoughts, Words. Wyatt’s heart was pounding as the robed, masked figure turned back to him with that same sadistic grin. He took another step forward, and Wyatt took one backward as fear surged through him, gripping him in indecision. Came Shem’s voice in his mind, like a churchbell through the midnight fog. I can help you. There are two seals on this sword that lock me within it. If you release the first, I can assist you. Wyatt yelped and leapt aside, narrowly dodging as the dark orb streaked pas...

News, Thoughts, Words. Wyatt took a deep breath and gripped the hilt of his sword, steeling himself for the worst as he slowly, cautiously walked toward the body. He got within a few feet of it when, to his shock, it stirred. 8220;Hello,” said Wyatt cautiously, calling out to it and standing up straight again. “Are you okay? He bumped into something, and felt a hand grip his shoulder. He shouted and lashed out at it, his fist connected with a sickly crunch as he smacked the thing aside. He danced...Deep ...

News, Thoughts, Words. Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Of troglodytes and temples. So, let's talk D&D! I can do weirder. So where will the path lead them now? I can assure you that the Fae does not forget. The Unseelie Princes hold grudges for longer than most trees hold root. The players, well, they're going to see some stuff, man. They're going to 'nam, except 'nam has hair made of raven's feathers and rides a nine-foot tall white stag. Monday, January 5, 2015. Well, so much for that. And happen they did!

News, Thoughts, Words. Monday, January 5, 2015. Well, so much for that. I mean, it could be worse. I could've forgotten about this thing entirely. It wasn't even so much that I forgot; rather, we're in a bit of a waiting period and I was, ahem, waiting for things to happen. And happen they did! It's a step. That, I believe more than anything, is the biggest key here: to keep taking steps. To keep driving and pushing toward my goals and my dreams no matter what. Am I still writing? snow |The Humming Blade
http://www.thehummingblade.com/2015/02/snow.html
News, Thoughts, Words. Sunday, February 15, 2015. It's wintertime. My second-favorite season, behind the fall. I enjoy the two for similar reasons; cool weather, seasonal memories, and an easy excuse to drink hot things filled with sugary things. And, thanks to the snow, I am inspired to talk about something that I rarely address publicly: one of the other stories that I someday hope to write. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
