The Butterfly Balcony: July 2014
http://thebutterflybalcony.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 10 July 2014. An-y-way, back to the point of today's post and boy it is a good one! By some supreme stroke of luck, my little blog has managed to be the next stop for the Pattern Pyramid (I'm calling it PP for short)! Not heard of the pattern pyramid? Then let me enlighten you! It was first started by Karen from Did You Make That. A Walthamstow based blogger whom shockingly I have only just discovered! I won the PP after recently stumbling across the gorgeous Sian's blog Kittenish Behavior.
The Butterfly Balcony: Kitchen Front
http://thebutterflybalcony.blogspot.com/p/the-kitchen-front.html
The Kitchen Front was a weekday early morning five-minute BBC radio broadcast, which aired during the Second World War. It was a way for the Ministry of Food to give the public guidance about the healthiest way of feeding themselves and get the most out of their rations. Why not give them at try! The Butterfly Balcony: Read it - TGBSB: Sew Your Own Wardrobe
http://thebutterflybalcony.blogspot.com/2015/04/read-it-tgbsb-sew-your-own-wardrobe.html
Monday, 6 April 2015. Read it - TGBSB: Sew Your Own Wardrobe. I love books. If anyone asks me what I want as a gift, nine times out of ten I'll point them in the direction of a book I've been lusting after, usually on Amazon. My poor billy bookcase is straining under the weight of the multitude of sewing, knitting, gardening, cookery and history books I have collected over the years. That shelf is definitely sagging under the weight of all those words. The Great British Sewing Bee:. Sew Your Own Wardrobe.

Delightful Handwork: June 2015
http://delightfulhandwork.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 16, 2015. The hollyhocks are blooming! Aren't they just lovely? Such an old-fashioned flower - in the best possible sense. When I went out to snap these pics it was so humid my lens kept fogging up! I think it gave the photos a rather pleasing softness though. Every time a walk past these beauties I find myself singing "Hollyhock, hollyhock, oh holly hollyhock! To the tune of Lollipop. What do you have blooming? Photos by Yours Truly}. Links to this post. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Then let th...

Delightful Handwork: January 2015
http://delightfulhandwork.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 19, 2015. THE Miss Lemon sweater - Part 1 - Planning. I have long been an admirer of Miss Lemon. Especially as portrayed by Pauline Moran in the Poirot series. The one with David Suchet as Poirot. The ONLY one in my humble opinion.). This is a character with brains, style, and class. Not to mention terrific knitwear. But, I just did. I've been invited to a Literary Ball coming up in February.. We are asked to come dressed as our favorite literary character. Rolls eyes at herself}. I usua...

Delightful Handwork: recent makes...
http://delightfulhandwork.blogspot.com/2015/05/recent-makes.html
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. As promised last week, here is what I've been working on as of late. That sweet knitted dress for my cousin's baby girl is all done and delivered.. I just love the simplicity of this precious knit. I used a natural shell button for the back closure to echo this simple design. I always pick up vintage baby hangers at thrift stores when I come across them. I think they make a fun addition to my handmade gifts.. For the bride and groom:. Mr and Mrs. Aprons! North Knittery: May 2015
http://northknittery.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Not So Grim Up North. Tuesday, 26 May 2015. So I got a little distracted. After my last posting I had decided to limit the number of projects I give myself to complete, at least over the summer. So. Yeah. That didn't work. Colette patterns were inconsiderate enough to release a new pattern, which I decided I must have at once! This is Aster. And I adore it. I want one of every version, probably more than one. So rather than focussing on my plans I decided to dive right in and make me a muslin! One thing ...
North Knittery: Working to a deadline
http://northknittery.blogspot.com/2015/08/working-to-deadline.html
Not So Grim Up North. Saturday, 29 August 2015. Working to a deadline. The Belmont cardigan by Gudrun Johnson (photo taken from pattern). I began this like all good knitters do, I made a swatch to check gauge and to practice that eye catching pretty lace on the front. I know what you're thinking. That's not red! This is where that pesky deadline started to niggle at me. I had 6 weeks to go at this point. I figured with some committed knitting time I could still do it. After it got to this point. They wer...
