Saturday, July 12, 2008. Here is the recipe for the BEST homemade pizza sauce:. 1 (6oz.) can tomato paste. 6 fluid oz. warm water. 3 Tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese. 1 tsp minced garlic. 2 Tbsp. honey. 3/4 tsp. onion powder. 1/4 tsp. dried oregano. 1/4 tsp. dried marjoram. 1/4 tsp. dried basil. 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper. 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper. 1/8 tsp. dried red pepper flakes. I give this one 5 stars. Alice told me about blogspot, so I've made a family page too! July 13, 2008 at 2:37 PM. This does look...

kanewoman: Nightmare!
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2010/05/nightmare.html
Friday, May 28, 2010. I just had to document this nightmare I had last night so I never forget my resolve! I was also inspired by this post by a funny guy named Mike. He put my terror into words. So, there I was, in a high school auditorium that looked remotely like the old gym at my Alma Mater Ellsworth High. Do things morph in your dreams, like they do in mine? I was standing on a lawn chatting it up with my friend Jen. It seems everyone has a talent they want to share. And I use the term talent. Wante...

kanewoman: Apron Bibs
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2010/05/apron-bibs.html
Sunday, May 30, 2010. A few weeks ago I found myself at the sewing machine channeling my beloved mother-in-law, sewing what I call "apron bibs". They are so fun to make, easy peasy, and oh so cute on a lovely little grandson or granddaughter. June-bug was an RN. I remember watching Mimi, June-bug, Mom, Ma (all terms of endearment for Larry's mom) whipping these up for my children. She had a pattern - one of the apron-bibs she had for HER children that HER mother had made. Can you see the mending? Those a...

kanewoman: A day late and a dollar short!
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2010/08/day-late-and-dollar-short.html
Wednesday, August 18, 2010. A day late and a dollar short! Only $2100 stood between me and my dream of owning a vintage camping trailer. I spotted this beauty in Dover - a 1964 Shasta. It was in remarkably good shape. Look at those orange wings! I drove by once more to take a picture and the "for sale" sign was gone. Truthfully - I am pretty sure that maintaining this beauty is beyond my capabilities right now, but a girl can dream, can't she? Labels: things I like. September 1, 2010 at 11:03 AM. To live...

kanewoman: Best Mother's Day Ever!
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2010/05/best-mothers-day-ever.html
Sunday, May 9, 2010. Best Mother's Day Ever! OK it isn't over yet - but here's what is so good thus far:. My house didn't burn down. There was a little incident with the fan/heater in our upstairs bathroom this morning. I didn't have time to call the fire department and wait around for them to check things out because I had to get to church to give a talk. I didn't think the Milton FD would understand, so I just said a little prayer that my house wouldn't burn down, and it didn't! Mothers guilt. So o...

kanewoman: Day late and a dollar short...
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2008/03/day-late-and-dollar-short.html
Friday, March 28, 2008. Day late and a dollar short. OK I know this is too late for St. Patrick's Day, but here is my recipe for Corned Beef Dinner. Place one 3-4 pound corned beef brisket in Dutch Oven (I use flat cut), barely cover with water. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 2 cloves garlic, minced; and 2 bay leaves. (If your corned beef came with a seasoning packet, add that, too). Cover and simmer 3-4 hours until tender. (I go long for really tender fall-apart beef.). Serves 6 (OK maybe only 3-4 Kanes).

kanewoman: French Baguettes
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2009/03/french-baguettes.html
Monday, March 16, 2009. This is a really quick bread - 1 hour tops. It is great with any meal and also makes awesome French Toast. It is even better made in a baguette pan - but I don't have one. Oh well. 1 1/2 cups warm water (total amount you will use) * *Think of body temperature of 98.6 - you want your water to feel warmer than your body temp, but not HOT - you want it to be 105 - 115 degrees. 1 1/2 Tbsp. active dry yeast (that is 2 packets). 2 tsp sugar, divided. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 450 d...

kanewoman: NOT starstruck
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2010/06/not-starstruck.html
Wednesday, June 16, 2010. OK Maybe just a little, but not impressed. Flying home the scenic route, the hubby and I found ourselves on several planes taking us from the heat of Phoenix, through the rain of Detroit, to the perfect weather of NH. Detroit has an airport that can only be described as long and thin (as I wish I were described in like manner ;-) ). We hopped on the train, and as I got settled I realized I. Recognized the dude across from me:. Yep, that's right, Michael Moore. Seriously, who eat...

kanewoman: Cafe Rio! (or one heavenly evening of delightful eating!)
http://kanewoman.blogspot.com/2009/01/cafe-rio-or-one-heavenly-evening-of.html
Saturday, January 24, 2009. Or one heavenly evening of delightful eating! Anyone who has eaten at Cafe Rio in the west know what I mean. So delicious. This is my interpretation of a Cafe Rio Pork Salad, and I must say - it is delightful. Cafe Rio Salads come in a tin pan - I used a pie plate, but you can use a large serving bowl if you wish. Here are your layers. Or buy black beans that are already seasoned! Shredded or broken into bite size pieces. Of course use Larish's amazing recipe for Salsa. 1/2 me...
