Om Some Noms: Manly Mussels!
http://omsomenoms.blogspot.com/2010/09/manly-mussels.html
Friday, September 24, 2010. Please make sure you read the notes after the comic if you want to try making this! You should read them. Get good shell fish! Don’t risk getting sick! When prepping the mussels, go through again and make sure you throw out any open mussels the monger may have missed (alliteration win! As well as any with cracked shells. I was really lucky, and only had about half a dozen I had to toss. This means they went into the pot already dead, and again, you don’t want to eat it! 5 If y...

food is my nish: Cheating & Gits Gulab Jamun
http://www.foodismynish.com/2010/09/cheating-gits-gulab-jamun-recipe.html
Food is my nish. Baking my way through the week and splurging all my dough on the weekends! Cheating and Gits Gulab Jamun. I cheated and all I got was this tasty bowl of gulab jamun. I've been with my boyfriend for three plus years and I can only fantasize. That is, cheating in the kitchen. Our mothers are both. Phenomenal cooks, employing ladles as wands and masalas. As potions. Boxed curry mixes are unheard of in our households, which only led me to the dilemma known as Gits. Meant balls, since gulab.

food is my nish: Best of Summer: Desserts @ Nobu, West Hollywood

Food is my nish. Baking my way through the week and splurging all my dough on the weekends! Best of Summer: Desserts @ Nobu, West Hollywood. Top Ten in 2010. When it comes to food writing, I find that dessert and cocktails may very well be my forté. it's only taken a year. To figure out. My attraction to writing sweet blurbs on Citysearch's now "decayed" Sugarbomber. Was magnetic and these days, dinner is always consummated with dessert. My first taste of Nobu at TOTNLA. I just had to order it again.

food is my nish: Ginger Cappuccino a la Anisha
http://www.foodismynish.com/2010/09/ginger-cappuccino-la-anisha.html
Food is my nish. Baking my way through the week and splurging all my dough on the weekends! Ginger Cappuccino a la Anisha. I've been obsessed with ginger cappuccinos ever since my first sip of an orange-ginger latte at Klatch Coffee. In Ontario. If I could only live with only one root vegetable, ginger would place first. I'm a fan of it it in all forms: fried pakoda-style, candied, ginger beers in Moscow mules, and even nibbled on raw. Grate about a thumb's worth of ginger. Said on September 20, 2010 11:...

Thursday, September 2, 2010. Eat Real Festival Year Two. I managed to get away to enjoy a few hours at the Eat Real. Festival in Oakland this past weekend. I went last year as well, but this was a bigger and better event. Just about any kind of food you could want was being served from trucks, carts and booths. Of course there were several versions of the traditional taco truck or taco stand and they all looked great. Click on the pics for larger images. There were Filipino food trucks. Spencer on the Go!

Sunday, January 29, 2012. San Francisco and Treasure Island 1-28-12. Will be feasting on fresh San Francisco Dungeness Crab for his Superbowl party. It was such a gorgeous January day, I thought I'd share a few pics with you all. Yes, it really was this nice out. Even in January. Coit Tower, one of San Francisco's Iconic Landmarks. Monday, May 21, 2012. Year Three Begins for the Redneck Garden. I finally got around to planting and realized this is the 3rd summer of Redneck Gardening. Same buckets, same small yard, but a few lessons learned along the way. I started with heavy soil, much like the native clay soil of the region. It seemed like a good concept; if I had a bigger yard and was planting in the ground, this would be the soil type, so why not in containers? In containers, it's a whole different game! This is my personal blog...

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Puttin' Down Some Roots. Has it really been like seven weeks since my last post? Turns out that time doesn't just fly when you're having fun, it flies even when you aren't. Having fun. Don't worry, I'm not going to whine and bore you to death with the details. After all, this isn't about me, it's about The Redneck Garden! I had to take it over to the driveway and turn the bucket upside down to get it out. Check out what I found. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). This is my personal b...
