The Knit Farm

26 November, 2010. We had a great first day on the ground in Dublin. Started by taking the Green Bus Tour around the high points of the city, to get oriented. Then we decided to find the National Leprechaun Museum. Which was a little gem. Had an early tea in a nice Irish pub [no turkey], and then homeward, so I could rest my feverish/chilled self. Fever's gone today, so onward we go. 25 November, 2010. A happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends! 23 November, 2010. Happy Happy Joy Joy. It's been a re...

The Knit Farm: October 2006

http://theknitfarm.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html

31 October, 2006. Socks and Costumes and Candy, Oh My! First things first - the finished Lily Socks. You can see that they are a bit wonky in the toe grafting. I don't think I pulled the yarn quite tight enough, and also usually I take it down to 8 stitches and graft sideways. This time, I stopped at 12 stitches and grafted front to back and it looks a little awkard to me. Lily likes them, however! Check out the costumey goodness - Lily's courtesy of Woolworth's and David's courtesy of mommy and grandma B.

The Knit Farm: May 2007

http://theknitfarm.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

22 May, 2007. I have been working, when I do feel like knitting, on Argosy. Which is another intriguing pattern from Vyvyan. I'm using a German sockweight yarn in soft seablues and gray/brown. When I get in the rhythm, I can do several repeats pretty quickly, but it's getting down to it that is the problem. I also started fiddling with Branching Out. Another lace scarf pattern, in some cream mohair, but I am only a short way in, and I think the mohair might be TOO hairy for this one. We'll see. Steve and...

The Knit Farm: March 2007

http://theknitfarm.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

26 March, 2007. The Last Gasp of the Camera. With its dying breath, my 4-year-old digital camera took this oddly blurry picture just for you, Gentle Reader. Of course, it ate six other pictures that it was showing had been taken, so I'm not TERRIBLY grateful. Will have David look at it, but I sense it's time for a new camera. Blurry, and uncontrasted against off-white carpet, I present.Snowdrop Blocking! 25 March, 2007. HmmmWhat could this be? Anyone know what this picture could be? 18 March, 2007. David...

A Dumbbell In A Home Gym. Year Three: Eyes on the Prize. Laquo; Party Girl 2007. Happy Holidays. ». On Friday, though, I gave myself a bit of a break; my birthday is on Monday and as an early treat, I did something I've been wanting to do for quite a while. The rest of this entry is rated EG for Extra Girly, so I'll put it behind a cut. So, as I've written before, my hair underwent a major transformation. When I got home, I insisted that my husband take some pictures. I still haven't entirely gotten ...

http://thewitfarm.blogspot.com/2010/11/home-for-real.html

Because "Things I want to post about from time to time" was too long a title. Sunday, November 28, 2010. Home, for real. Back home. It's a nice feeling, no matter how much you enjoyed your time away. And especially since I had been home for less than 24 hours before we headed out to Dublin. And we're expecting snow this week. Actually, we're sort of hoping for it, because if it snows tonight, no one has to go out to school in the morning. Still two days off to go. Yay! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Wit Farm: Happy O'Thanksgiving!

http://thewitfarm.blogspot.com/2010/11/happy-othanksgiving.html

Because "Things I want to post about from time to time" was too long a title. Thursday, November 25, 2010. Here we are in Dublin, well known for its Thanksgiving ambience. heh. We wanted to do something different this year, spend the time together, and not worry so much about a massive feast. So this morning, when I reminded the kids that it was Thanksgiving, but we weren't going to have a big turkey dinner, Lily said, "Well, I'll have to do the "Roast Dinner Dance." Which she did.

Because "Things I want to post about from time to time" was too long a title. Thursday, January 24, 2008. I got you, babe. Probably the worst thing about these trips is the monotony. Day in,. The Kniterella View

Saturday, December 31, 2011. The skein that sparked insanity. On the cusp of a brand spankin' New Year and I find myself sorting through bins of yarn. My goal (if you can rightfully call it that) is to get every skein of yarn into Ravelry with a photo and bin location. The craziness that sparked this endeavor was my desire to find a skein of sock yarn that I KNEW I had. It nearly became an obsession as every bin was searched and searched through again. Ha! Knitter, Yarn Lover, Handcraft Enthusiast. January 6, 2017. January 6, 2017. Ice Cream, something I missed from the days where I ate gluten. My 2017 started off on a wonderful note. I found my knit hat. It seems as if I haven’t written New Year’s Resolutions on my blog since 2015 began. I believe I did alright with a lot of my resolutions in 2015, which was the year of love. I want to stretch every day for at least 10 minutes. This is pretty basic, but I think this will be nice to do when I wake up t...

knIT girl

Knitting my way through my IT department. Saturday, 16 November 2013. I am knitting for Christmas. I have done the usual thing of queuing up enough projects to keep me going for about six months, then planning to make them all in four weeks. During that time, I also plan to make soaps, Christmas cards, biscuits, two Christmas cakes, an advent calendar, labels for all the knitting, and a patchwork quilt. I also plan to keep my job, move house and sleep. I am, as always, insane. This should be fun. The kni...
