The life of Brine. Wednesday, 10 April 2013. So, back from our Easter break. Right back at it again. This time I'll try to stay on topic, but don't hold me to that. The butterfly has 5 cones in their eyes, the extra two being colours our brain cannot process, let alone identify! When a butterfly sees a rainbow, it is a great deal larger than what we see. But for sheer colour variance, nothing trumps the mantis shrimp. Where a human has 3 cones, and a butterfly has 5; the mantis shrimp has 16 cones.
