Give Me S' More! We were lucky enough to get a free fire pit. however it needed some work. So last weekend,. Kevin spent a lot of time cleaning and fixing it up. This involved washing it, removing rust, washing it again, removing more rust, sanding it and finally painting it with high-heat Rustoleum paint (several coats). It turned out great! Last night we had our first fire and made s'mores. The girls loved it! Tonight we had friends over for dinner and. yup. more s'mores! Links to this post. For the fi...

Happy First Birthday, Emma! This very night, one year ago, I started feeling stronger contractions. They were consistant for awhile and then were not at all. So, by midnight, I decided to go to bed. I told Kevin, who was working in the dining room, that this could be. I made it to the doorway and another strong contraction hit me. I told the nurses I needed to push! Kevin didn't even get me checked into the hospital and my midwife hadn't even arrived. After a few pushes, Emma was born! Links to this post.

I dread the late afternoon rush. after the kids naps, just before my husband gets home, when toys are everywhere, laundry needs to be folded (and put away! The dishwasher needs to be emptied and everything needs to be done. I've always wanted to be a "meal planner". You know. the kind of mom who actually spends some time planning out what the family will have for dinner each night of the week ahead. I made this nifty meal-planning-template today in hopes that it will motivate me to stick to it this time!

http://afritoskindalife.blogspot.com/2015/03/moms-club-retreat.html
I joined our local MOMS Club. A few years ago. It's been invaluable to me and my girls! We have made so many friends and we keep pretty busy with activities & play dates. Just returned from our first MOMS Club Retreat! We got several ladies together and rented a house in the NC mountains for the weekend. It was a great trip. full of laughter, eating and exploring the area. Hopefully, this will be the first of many. We're already talking about doing a Fall retreat at the beach! Have something to say?

I'm busy planning my baby's. How can she be three already! Her favorite book these days is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. So I thought that'd be the perfect party theme. I have found lots of cute ideas on Pinterest. from invites to crafts to food. I'm thinking the kids can make their own caterpillars. And take them home in little baby food jars! How cute is this? Here are some pics I just took of Emma this afternoon (I needed one for her invite). She is growing up so, so fast! Links to this post.
