WireHeaded Noodle Brain: June 2009
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2009. You need to be ingenious to be Canadian. I'm from "down south". In Canadian-speak that means I am from the US. I (proudly) became a Canadian citizen a coupla. Years ago, so I am both us and them. There are things I love about Canada, when compared to the US, and vice verse. For people in same sex relationships. Canada loses big time when it comes to access to technology. It seems so simple. Now, wouldn't you think that a country that figured out how to just. Checkout not to be full...

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: News flash: the ice cream truck is back, but still, no pretzels in Red Deer
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2010/05/news-flash-ice-cream-truck-is-back-but.html
Wednesday, May 26, 2010. News flash: the ice cream truck is back, but still, no pretzels in Red Deer. In the meantime, I have been missing good soft pretzels, a desire fueled by a New York Times article. On the finer points of pretzel making and availability in New York City, where, apparently there is a rebirth of pretzel-love. From St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay's blog:. However, City departments do have an obligation to respond to residents’ complaints and to treat all businesses fairly. For w...This is...

http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Normally this whole reinstall the OS business takes the better part of a day. I managed to stretch it out to three days because I have become increasingly stupid as the years have progressed. It's the noodles. It was almost enough to make a quit grrl start smoking. Almost. Your Quit Date is: 7/8/2009 6:00:00 AM. Time Smoke-Free: 62 days, 2 minutes and 16 seconds. Cigarettes NOT smoked: 2480. Lifetime Saved: 18 days, 22 hours. Money Saved: $496.00. Links to this post.

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: I'm cheap, therefore I Kobo
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2010/05/im-cheap-therefore-i-kobo.html
Sunday, May 9, 2010. I'm cheap, therefore I Kobo. I took the plunge and bought an eBook reader last week. I've been watching the technology (and the price) since pre-Kindle days, but didn't take the plunge until the Kobo reader. Was released in Canada last weekend. At $149 CAD it was definitely the right price and e-ink with ePub and PDF formats was the right technology. It's not perfect, of course. No 1.0 device ever is, but it does the trick. I have learned the ins and outs of converting fi...In any ca...

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: Unfortunately, I have to work
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2010/04/unfortunately-i-have-to-work.html
Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Unfortunately, I have to work. When I awoke at 3:30 this morning, I immediately realized that my life is not worth living- well, not for the next three days. It's a work thing. If the first envelope of money could be delivered to my door in the next 60 minutes, I would do the whole world peace thing today. Really. April 21, 2010 at 7:00 AM. Ill watch Mike Holmes with you. After the world peace thing, of course. April 21, 2010 at 8:17 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Unfort...

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: July 2009
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. Drunk, stoned, pregnant (or all three). We went to an afternoon showing of the new Harry Potter movie and then stopped at A&W and brought home burgers and fries. Even though we did it on the cheap (matinee rates, shared popcorn, no sodas), we blew through $50. No wonder teenagers find someplace to get buzzed and have sex on date night. What 16 year old can afford dinner and a show these days? Links to this post. Monday, July 27, 2009. Phone vibration and taken off, but did I do tha...

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: Eliot, you got it wrong, let me show you May
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2010/05/eliot-you-got-it-wrong-let-me-show-you.html
Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Eliot, you got it wrong, let me show you May. TS Eliot The Waste Land. 1922. I THE BURIAL OF THE DEAD. APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding. Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing. Memory and desire, stirring. Dull roots with spring rain. Winter kept us warm, covering. Earth in forgetful snow, feeding. A little life with dried tubers. This is the backyard at The House of Noodles. It illustrates the effect of one too many winters in Central Alberta. In any case, the fencing will be p...

WireHeaded Noodle Brain: I'm standing in the washroom, and I don't need to pee
http://wireheadednoodlebrain.blogspot.com/2010/04/im-standing-in-washroom-and-dont-need.html
Wednesday, April 28, 2010. I'm standing in the washroom, and I don't need to pee. I was half way out the door this morning when I realized I had no money. I walked the 15 meters to my bedroom (where the money can be found on top of RW's dresser), but ended up turning left instead of right and found myself in the washroom. I looked around. I was pretty sure I had taken a shower, brushed my teeth, and put on deodorant. I knew I didn't have to pee. So why was I there? April 28, 2010 at 11:18 AM. As far as I...
