Friday, January 7, 2011. Roman's surgery to get tubes went perfectly smooth! He did amazingly well beforehand without having any food or drink after midnight. He was so cute in his little hospital gown that I had to take a picture! He woke up very angry and cried quite a bit. He was a little disoriented as well. We got through it all and we were home by 10:30. His ears don't seem to be bothering him, but he is cutting teeth right now. So, I attribute any grumpiness to that. Saturday, January 1, 2011.

These past 2 months have gone by so fast, yet it seems like Roman has been here for so long :) I know I've read that in other adoptive family posts as well, but it's so true! He has changed SO much in 2 months - it's unbelievable. He has adapted so amazingly well. I have been totally surprised. I didn't really know what to expect, but I was braced for much worse! Wednesday, May 12, 2010. A week and a half after returning home, I'm just now finding time to blog about it! Whew - it's been a tiring time. I developed strep throat on the 24 hour travel time, which only got worse as the time went on. Not fun! Roman did NOT sleep but about an hour and a half on the first 9.5 hour flight. He stayed awake during our entire layover in NY (about 4 hours I think), but he did finally sleep in our flight from NY to Memphis. Poor Wes - he did an amazing job though! I've been so...

Tuesday, August 17, 2010. 20- lived in my first apartment with friends- Beauregard anyone? 21- graduated from Mississippi College, armed with a BA and a set of irreplaceable friends and memories. 22- got my first real "i'm on salary" job- Recruiter at MC (then i thought salary was a good thing! 23- had an incredibly fun year of friends/roommates, work and just being out on my own- even a budget seemed fun back then. 25- moved back to Memphis, met this cute guy named Billy and got engaged.

Monday, January 24, 2011. Posting these a bit late, but too cute not to get them up! I love the snow. Every time it has snowed since we got married Billy has said he can't wait for us to have a kid so I will have someone to play with when it snows! He was probably just glad for a break from getting pelted with snowballs by his 6 yr old. Hope to join them next year. Meanwhile, enjoying winter hibernation with our snuggly cub, and yes, in true Memphis winter style, those are socks on Joseph's hands.

Monday, May 31, 2010. The Nursery.in Progress. For those of you who have asked, here are some pics of the nursery in progress. We left the antique dresser and will convert it to a changing table. Still waiting to get that changing cover. We also have my great grandmother's rocking chair- just have to recover the seat. Material is there, just need to stretch and staple! Love my little baskets with all Joseph's cute things in them, and the cotton curtains that let plenty of light in- very happy and cozy.
