Running Avenue: Auburn KD Shamrock 5K

Sunday, March 7, 2010. Auburn KD Shamrock 5K. Been a long time since I have raced. The KD Shamrock 5K was a good way to shake the cobwebs loose before the ING Atlanta Marathon at the end of the month. I had to sign up for something to get me motivated to train hard and consistently. My wife was a KD and 2 of our babysitters for our twins are KDs. As you would suspect, there were a lot of 18-24 year old participating. The route was quite hilly and offer numerous challenges for such a short course of a 5K.

Sunday, December 21, 2008. Last week we took our annual trip to visit Santa at Lenox. We were unsure how the children would react to jolly ole St. Nick, seeing that last year Jane was terrified and karate chopped poor Santa to bits while getting her picture made. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Charlie's been caught red-handed (I mean, red-shoed). Riding with Will the champ and his horse. We love the rodeo! One of our June highlights was going to the Cobb County Rodeo! We had never been and Pam's son Will was going to compete. Monday, March 1, 2010. New Military Working Dog Kennel. Now, I know there. We took a previously developed, and then abandoned, 2 acre lot that was mostly a dumping ground of concrete, asphalt, and scrap metal. We built a 7000 square foot kennel building with 25 interior/exterior kennel runs, a 2500 square foot administration building with a vet exam room, and a 500 square foot storage building for the training area obstacles. Jeff's beloved grandfather "Pop" passed away last month, and today would have been his 91st birthday. You'd be hard pressed to find a sweeter soul on this earth. I will always cherish the memories I have of him and the kindness he always showed me. What a wonderful, Godly man that left a mark on this earth!
