Tell Me a Story Now: November 2008
http://tellmeastorynow.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tell Me a Story Now. Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Thanksgiving when I was little was very much a family affair. So Thanksgiving was a huge deal. There was six in our family, six in my Aunt Helen’s family, Uncle Charles, Grandma, “Aunt” Theda’s family, “Uncle” Junior, “Nana and Grandpa” Sutton and some others I can’t remember. I think that made about 25 – 30 of us most years. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy. I’m sure there was more, but that is all I can remember. I remember once getting sick on Thanksgiving....

Tell Me a Story Now: February 2009
http://tellmeastorynow.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tell Me a Story Now. Thursday, February 26, 2009. As you have probably realized by now, if you've been following my blog, Osborne Neighborhood Church was a big part of my life as a kid. Osborne was a great church to grow up in. It was comprised of many young families with kids about the same age. Also many seasoned Christian saints who had been missionaries or in other types of ministry. We were surrounded by lots of people who invested time and effort to minister to all of the children and y...We had wo...

Tell Me a Story Now: Mom
http://tellmeastorynow.blogspot.com/2009/06/mom.html
Tell Me a Story Now. Monday, June 8, 2009. My mom is hard to describe. She was different things to different people. My sisters and I always joke that we had "different mothers." I suppose that would be true in any family. Each one has his/her own unique relationship with another, and sees the other in a way uniquely his/hers. She was creative as well. She always made our halloween costumes. No store bought costumes for us! Like I said, she was creative! She had a wonderful sense of humor. That is so...

Tell Me a Story Now: Grandpa Thatcher
http://tellmeastorynow.blogspot.com/2009/05/grandpa-thatcher.html
Tell Me a Story Now. Friday, May 15, 2009. Okay, so previous posts have been about my mother's parents/steparent. Now we turn to my dad's side. I don't think he was a very happy man. He was nice enough to us kids and to my parents, but just seemed withdrawn and unhappy. He wasn't particularly nurturing in raising them. He was a stern disciplinarian, and sometimes abusive from what I understand. I don't think I ever saw Bepaw cry either. May 28, 2009 at 2:34 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Salt Shaker: October 2010
http://thesanctuarywoodland.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Each week we hear from God's Word. We grow in our faith by sharing with other believers what we are learning as we apply the Word to our lives. The purpose of this blog is to offer one more forum for us to interact with one another. Sunday, October 31, 2010. This is a term of exultation. To exult means "to leap for joy" or "to be filled with joy." In my last post I wrote about the benefits of being justified through faith. In the morning, when I rise. In the morning, when I rise. Just give me Jesus.

This morning we talked about Dr. Seuss' Christmas story, "The Grinch that Stole Christmas." Of course, the message of that story was that the problem was his heart:. The Grinch hated Christmas! Shoes were too tight.

Tell Me a Story Now: Simplicity
http://tellmeastorynow.blogspot.com/2009/07/simplicity.html
Tell Me a Story Now. Monday, July 27, 2009. Sometimes when I watch kids today and all the electronic toys they have, I often wonder what they would do if they had none of that. When I was growing up, we had great imaginations, and played a lot of "pretend" play. We would put on "talent" shows, and pretend we had amazing costumes, fashioned out of blades of grass (it was "pretend" after all! Usually the talent was singing (something we knew a lot about) or tap dancing (something we knew NOTHING about)!
